@@Ryan-Petre How gross you are to imply that what PPF does doesn't show his originality and his personal touch. You think a song has to be completely changed in it's meaning to show originality? It shows immense skill and love to recreate a song in a way that perfectly emulates the source like this and the fact that PPF is one of the few people on KZbin that can do it is testimony in itself.

KevinHilt I agree, I love that section! That's the part of the composition that made me want to record this piece. I love how much funk is conveyed with two relatively simple parts. And yeah, it appears that I'm sticking with this name. I was going to change it, but then I did some research and found that Google has been known to automatically ban users simply because they changed their screen name. This is by far one of if not THE most amazing cover of this song I've heard, another song you've done AMAZING justice to. It's absolutely amazing, even before I was 1 minute into listening I was entranced. Not only that but how you set up the lighting and overall feel of the editing in the video really added to it, really set the mood for me.
@archetypeknight771 Жыл бұрын
People have already said it but this truly is the definitive cover of this song. The creative choice to make the harp arpeggio less reverbed really adds an extra layer of mystery to the song. The percussion is gentle and subtle but clearly those unique instruments were carefully chosen. Finally, the organic bass playing adds so much mood that MIDI instruments can't quite capture. Honestly, I hope Yasinori Matsuda has heard this.

Also, since some nerds here are likely to know: I've discovered easily that Noriko Matsueda's contribution to CT was the first boss theme, but I've had no luck at all finding out which tracks (supposedly ten in total) Uematsu wrote after Mitsuda became too ill to work. A lot of people say 1:44 is their favorite part and I can see why. Personally 1:20 is my favorite part (beautifully contrasted with the 1:44 section though). The emotional intensity of the song, and the surreal chords played on the second of every four measures in this part*, are two specific reasons I love this so much *count 1-16 on the downbeats and pay attention to 5, 6, 7, 8
