Everyone has there own experiences, one my known person went to Maldives and Maldives immigration officers did not ask him many questions, they simply verified his documents and just stamped his passport with Maldives Visa, so it was a super smooth experience for him. All the guests are required to show hotel booking before they visit Maldives regardless of their nationality. Total population of Maldives is about 400,000 including foreigners. There are over 80,000 illegal immigrants working in Maldives mainly from Bangladesh and India, hence the trouble. And Maafushi Island is not a private island. It's a local island. Sorry you had to go through that. It's an amazing country.

The reason why they asked too many question is because at that point of time there was some little issue going on between India and Maldives. Also do you know how many people (foreigners) are staying in Maldives illegally. Some people come here and they find jobs and do not return to their country within the give period of time. We can’t tell by looking at that persons face that he will keep his word and return to his country. As you all know we already have limited land. We are already crowded with our people’s here. The government is trying to deport all the illegally settled people’s, but yet not succeeded. So It is the immigration people’s job to ask questions and find out if any problem is there. Millions of tourists visit Maldives every year and if its that difficult, why would those tourists decide to come to Maldives. As the stay here in Maldives is high they expect you to Carry enough money while you come here.. I think it will be beneficial for both parties..

If you read carefully the immigration website of maldives you can see everything written clearly there. It was your mistake you didn't have a fully booked and paid stay and enough money to convince the immigration authorities. If you've been travelling so much you should know these things by now. Don't expect you to be treated differently from the rules and law of a country. The same questions are asked from the Europeans too in maldives. So don't complain and seek attention from the ignorants to become famous. And for those you comment they won't come to maldives, i would say don't come, we are not dying to see you here. You can stay where you are. Rules are rules. It's as simple as that.

I'm from Maldives -There's no such thing as private islands (it would either be a resort or someone's property (yes people buys inhabited islands)) -you have to do the bookings at least a weak before (coz almost all the resorts and hotels will be full *how do i know?* my cousin's works in hotels and resorts - I personally believe that K.atoll and S.atoll are more advanced in many ways 💁

matt prior is it our fault that our county is going to go under water soon.. all the human beings in this word is responsible for the damages caused to the environment due to their actions.. ( global warning and other environmental issues) .. it’s not like we get to select the country before We come out of the mothers womb.this guy in the video make it as a very horrible experience.. their are a lot of people who have faced worse than this.. maybe from India immigration too..mostly a lot of people face different types of experiences like this while traveling. To enter Maldives no pre-arrival visa is required if you are a tourist. but you should posses a valid passport and have a valid ticket to continue the journey out of Maldives and have enough funds to cover the expenses for duration of the stay in Maldives.

Immigration Officer ne kaha show money, meine 310 US Dollars show kiya, Immigration Officer kaha you come next time I argue with him He said my law is very strick I can not allow you to enter in Bangkok, I said if I exchanged I will get more than 10,000 Butts, he asked me you have got, I said no I will get. Officer said give me 1,000 Butts, I said first you put stamp on my passport I will bring from my friend, officer said from your Dost I said yes he put Arrival stamp on my passport. My friend said don't give him, forget we shall move. It was 1am in the Night that was my 3rd visit to Bangkok in three months

The reason they was interrogating you bcoz you have not booked and paid for your other hotel stay. As you might be not aware that each and every island in Maldives are private island and immigration team want to make sure that you have a valid voucher or hotel booking confirmation before landing to some private resort.
