AJL usually have around 8 to 10 judges. They are mostly consist of songwriters, producers, musicians and experienced singers (Siti Nurhaliza was once a judge on AJL). The thing abt AJL is, most of the songs are not in their original arrangement. Singers and songwriters will re-arrange it so that it suits to be performed with orchestra (because all performances will be accompanied by orchestra) and also, for the singers to show their vocal ability. Like this song, the original version is a bit simpler. AJL is a song competition, but it is also where you see singers showcasing their best ability and artistry.

Salma’s vocal performance was absolutely perfect. But the Head Judge of AJL32 mentioned that one of the reasons Syamel & Ernie won Best Vocal Award that night was due to the higher level of difficulty of their vocal arrangement. It’s such a pity Salma had to compete against them. If it was any other year, Salma would have had it in the bag.

When it comes to AJL everyone are not playing games with you..it’s not that easy to being selected for enter this..you need to have a very2 good song, strong supporters and of course a strong vocal demand..so as you can see every singer will give everything that they can do in order to compete for best vocal awards..one of the jury was datuk syafinaz selamat a dramatic coloratura soprano (a reputed soprano soloist), well known as a voice teacher/vocal coach in universities

Kejujuran means honesty Yazik! But we have a quite similar words. We have JURANG which means a GAP. Gap and hole is not quite far apart in terms of meaning. Who knows if the words are related to each other since we malays borrow a lot of foreign language and adopt it as ours.
