So basically this song was composed by her and sharon Paul... the lyrics itself also from ernie.. Gundah means Sorrow/Sadfull/Empty or feel Longing to someone.. She dedicated this song to her late grandparents.. back then, when her grandmother passed away.. she sees that her grandfather was in sorrow, loneliness and sadful.. ernie watch how struggle her grandfather moving forward without her wife besides him.. The moment she cried on the stage, we her fans also burst into tears.. when she was performing Ajl34, she was deny from winning any awards.. the judges said that she is too much on technical...they couldn't feel the emotions of the song of Ku Bersuara.. And this time around she proved to the judges and Malaysian that she is a truly Story Teller. like u said, im agree shes a in making legend.

She was trending again during this performance. Not only because of her vocal but pure emotion that she delivered. Yeah it is not 100% perfect vocally like she always did because she was emotional and crying but she did very well. I cannot imagine how a singer manage to still sing very well even he or she got emotional like Ernie did. When you said Ernie is like Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza yeah i can agree with that. Even Siti Nurhaliza adore her so so so much. During Ku Bersuara when Ernie lost for best vocal, Ernie told that Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza privately texted her and gave her support. Hi Yazik! I hope you see this comment! I'll just translate the chorus so you can get a whole vibe and emotions of this song. Title: Gundah = Despair Biar rasa ini membunuhku 2:28 "Let this feeling feed me alive" - she was talking about the pain of remembering her late grandparents,funfact: in malay and islamic culture, it isn't supported to be excessively crying, raging and weeping to the dead, as it disrespects them. Biar rindu ini menghukumku 2:33 "Let this longing punish me" - she was talking about the willingness of her to long for them, even if it punishes her. Apa jua namun Dia Tahu 2:39 "Whatever it is, He (God) Knows" - Apa jua means whatever it is, Dia is referring to God, Tahu means to know. Cintaku tetap utuh disampingmu 3:07 "My love will always be there (intact) if im next to you" - That means her love will always be strong if she is reminded of them (her grandparents) that is why in the previous lyrics she is known to speak about the pain, and now this part reasons as to why she does that. Because she wants to always feel the presence of her grandparents and remember them. Simpan segalanya, Teguh agar jiwa tiada rasa 3:14 "Keep everything inside, be strong so this heart doesnt hurt as much" She is trying to say, that even though she goes through all this, she is still afraid because she knows her heart is fragile. Thanks Yazik for the reaction! Though she didn't expect any awards this time as she was not in a good health condition in that week and her sad emotion thinking of her grandparents in the middle of performance which might affect her singing, she had done a really great job that night and deserved the best vocal award. My view on her performance (all her live performance) he made me drowning into emotion. It feels like 'the story' she sang to you was actually your own story. Her live performance always addictive. For the song itself already been embed in my heart & emotion (the lyrics of course). To translate it accordingly to my life experiences it got myself torn apart inside out. It's about the longing for the lost. You get attached to someone dear to you which was too deep, in fact u can't even imagined how miserable life u have to face without him/ her beside u. And yet life is not fairytale with happy ending all the time, Ur soulmate left not just the memories but also half of your breathe, pulse, life. You’ve mention that there’s a few pitchy notes in the performance. Well, Ernie has told the media after the show that she’s been unwell for a week (sore throat) already and she didn’t give high expectation actually to win the best vocal that night (eventho it was her dream to win it). However, due to her condition, she just wanted to give her best that she can to deliver the song. And that also the most importantly, she she just wanted to deliver the message and the feel of the song to all (which she did). For me, as a regular people, i think this performance was perfect enough. I also like the idea of it concept which for me is simple but still creative and classy. Right? It also as well reminded to me of ‘Tim Burton’ kind of style. Anyways, I am so happy and she’s realy deserved the winning. Congratz to Ernie Zakri and her team! Btw, the song was about her late grandmother and late grandfather. After her grandfather passed away, her grandmother was so ‘gundah’ (upset). She died just about a year later.

She does literally crying..... this song is so emotional for her... this song is about her grandmother that has past away... that weird close is a traditional clothe that is famous in 50s which when her grandparents started to know and love each other... thing song is telling about her heartbreak and missing her grandmother... as u can see the background there's some arabic... it's a prayer for people who past away.
