To be honest, why should there be any CBFC? I can understand that many people are sensitive and many a time censorship is required but then, there can be no selective censorship. Directors and filmmakers are also human beings and there will be at times where there will be a certain favouritism done to certain films be it in the form of family relations or political ideologies.

as a content creator I think certification adopt karna ek approach ho sakti hai but then hum ye bhi ignore nahi kar sakte ki kuch cheeze actually mai censor karna zaruri hai. Who gives the censor board the moral high ground to decide which changes to be made / what certification a film should be given . I think random people of maybe 20 ( hopefully from all sectors) who will apply for it should get the job and should be changed every three months . Just like the legal system in usa and they are only given permission to categorise the movie but should not be allowed to make any changes . A set of rules must be made if u want to stop certain aspects. Only those can be asked to change. And every movie should be given a certification within a week of when they apply

You didn't cover the censor board controversies of the 20th century which led to the changes in the Indian cinematograph act. For example due to Insaf ka Tarasu and Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Badle ki aag was discussed in the Loksabha for its controversial content (like showing minors in sexual manner, showing killing of children in films etc). Throughout the history of Indian cinema there has been a criticiism over the censorship norms. Sholay was given U certificate despite of so much violence. Hawalat in 1987 got U certificate despite having 3 rape scenes that too in close up and slow motion. And on the other end Teen Deviyan if Devanand was given A certificate just because it showed a man romancing three heroines. And the first A rated film of India Muskurate Ansoo because of its negative title and showing a free spirited anti men heroine in a conservative society. One can write a whole subject on this theme.
