York Bowen is known for his playful compositional style and this is no exception. I feel that Ridout and Dupree capture the playful manner of the piece, as well as the more passionate parts. Overall Ridout is a truly magnificent player and plays all of his music with grace and passion. Thank you Bowen for composing such a fantastic sonata and thank you both for playing so fantastically. It really proves what the viola can do!
