YD100 and 80cc Quick Check To Verify Piston Is Facing The Right Direction

This video was requested by a viewer to help limit the possibility of breaking a piston ring when verifying the correctly installed piston direction. This will work for both the YD100 and the Zeda 80 engines. Hopefully this will help to save a ring or two!!!

You said "clockwise" while turning it counter clockwise. ?

Clockwise to check the piston counterclockwise to put it back in the middle the hole in the middle then pop your rod and then your clip in

Also use some 2 stroke oil on the piston and cylinder,

Yo you didn’t show how to put the piston onto the head. Since the piston yo had a was already on the head... thought that this video was all about how to put the piston back on if it was backwards after receiving it?

Hey Mark I don't know if you know about some of the new hyper beach cruisers some of them are going to need a motor mount a CNC mount

Can you spin it all the way around or do you have to take it out if it's in wrong

Make sure there is at least some lubrication in the cylinder to prevent scratches, and them just turn it around without taking it out. 👍

Question can this yd100 cylinder an piston bolt directly on a 80cc case? Or are the head studs pattern diff?

Unfortunately, no. The main opening of the opening is not wide enough to fit the transfer port guides of the 100 cylinder. If you were to bore out the case of the 80, then yes, but you would also then need to change the crank as well. Hope that helps. Happy building.
