So the thing is Music Directors often create mocaps of the song structure which is usually sung by their assistants. (Arijit might have been Pritam's at that time) for the main singers to listen and replicate it in their voice. Now this is the problem while working with Pritam. He did the same with Lucky Ali for the Movie Cocktail, Lucky Ali sung a version of Yaariyan song for Cocktail movie, but that song was not included in the album, in fact that song was not even released at all. If you search Yaariyan by Lucky Ali, you ll find it on KZbin. And that is a beautiful version as well. I am not saying that Mohan Kannan didnt sung that song good, his version is also very good, but Lucky Ali's version is a little different and gives the song another dimension.
