"Controversy Creates Cash" 25:46 - After watching Goldbergs Autobiography, how he expressed how he enjoyed to hurt people while playing football and how he couldn't go to jail doing it. I honestly think Goldberg is like the Ted Bundy of pro-wrestling. He creates this likable persona of friends/family/coworkers which can defend him when things like this come up. I think he enjoyed hurting people while wrestling and knew he would be able to get away with it. I'm not a crazy pro-wrestling fan and stopped watching around WrestleMania 11 but I enjoy listening to these old folks talk about the old days. I like Vince Russo because I am also from Long Island His persona is very 'normal' for me but I also like Eric Bischoff too. They both have their pro's & con's along with their own take on things, when they happened. It's always best to get ALL the details about something, from ALL angles, before making judgement on certain things.

I hate how people are still debating this dumb question of 'who killed WCW'. The answer is two-fold. No. 1 is the AOL/Time Warner merger, that is the main reason WCW is no longer with us. The 2nd reason is considerably smaller and I'll explain why. 2nd reason is because the WWF were far more successful and profitable than WCW by the end of it's run. Reason No. 1 plays a much bigger role because of Turner, the executives DID NOT WANT wrestling on their channel anymore, therefore the only wrestling company that was funded to be broadcast on that channel had been shut down. There is NOTHING anyone can do, WCW had no more TV to broadcast and it's library and other assets were up for sale. Vince McMahon pounced on that opportunity and bought up whatever was left of the WCW. Anyone who blames Vince Russo or even Eric Bischoff is absolutely wrong. If the execs wanted WCW to continue despite the merger, then WCW would have lasted longer and the assets would not have been sold to McMahon, not at that time of course. By the time WCW ended, Russo was long gone before then.

Also, yes he hates the wrestling business but dammit he knows this is a job he could never walk away from. He will curse it to the ground and continue to make videos talking nothing but wrestling mainly with other wrestlers on his podcast. Hey, there's a lot of people who hate their job but still work it lol. The good thing now for him is that he doesn't have to travel and can do everything from the comfort of his own home. He's even helping out friends with a favor by producing and writing indie shows local to him where he gets more control and say than he would in a major company like AEW or if he returned to WWE which is very different now than it was when he left.

Just my opinion … i haven’t watched wrestling since like 2010 ish so maybe my opinion doesn’t count … but I do like listening to these wrestling podcasts from time to time … when I was a kid Vince I did like the wwf stuff with the undertaker and stone cold. Not sure when you went to wcw but when I used to see you on tv I changed the channel sorry man I didn’t think you were a good character at all …. But tna with sting and Kurt angle and all that main even mafia stuff was good to me. It was either that or watch John cena and that was way better in my opinion … hell of a writer in wwf and tna.

Come on, man. If you're talking promo wise, I might give you that 80% comment, but to say you were simply better overall than 80%, that's just an idiotic comment to make that will make people dislike you even more.

Why do russos fans act like he was the be all of wrestling I admit he did great as head booker from 97-99. But he wasn’t booking the sure when the attitude era reached its peak 2000. The guy’s crash tv destroyed wcw in 2001 and literally buried it creatively with some of the worst storylines in wrestling history. He did fine with tna Russo marks act like he created a wrestling boom when we all know hulk hogan and the nwo created that 90’s boom

1000% correct. I remember as a kid watching TNA for the first time. It was on some tiny channel in the UK. I never watched WCW and had no idea who Vince Russo was. I presumed he was just their equivalent of a Vince McMahon type character. His promos were absolutely gripping. That angle with Raven and Jarrett and Chris Harris... unbelievable. Russo was - and is - a very rare person in that when he talks, you can't help but listen.

Triple H’s wwe currently Sold more merch than anytime in history Broke attendance records Broke the all time wrestlemania and summer slam live gate The bloodline storyline broke all time records for revenue since 2001 Cody sold more merch than anyone since Austin Roman broke the all time record for merch revenue for a heel In a climate when no one used cable, triple H wwe has 4m viewers watching raw, Smackdown and nxt every week. All this is facts not feelings as you can look at it online. Wwe is in its strongest position not seen since 2000. This has been the most popular it has been since the attitude era. The company sold out arenas in France, Australia, Scotland d, Puerto Rico etc. when you look at the dollar and every metric the wwe is in a boom period. Triple is doing a fantastic job and 🤡 like you use feelings over facts. You guys are stuck in 1998 like ur buddy Russo. Wake up 🤡 it’s 2024. You don’t see people longing for terminator, Jerry springer or Seinfeld like some nostalgic moron.
