I mean that's a college dropout addressing a double doctorate(Literature at Oxford and Law at Harvard) in a formal setting as "miss". This is a very common tactic of demeaning women, in order to attempt to discredit their ideas without engaging substance. It's the same as when SJWs discredit people for being "cis white men". Yes got another good job when she finished. BUT then realise what was really going ON in this world and decided to go down a different road. And she has never looked back. NO we all don't need degrees as if you put your mind to it YOU can have a great JOB and make great money...Speaking from experience I didn't get a degree had my own business and did very well in a job that I LOVED and I think that is the most important thing. Youd be both wrong and rude then. If someone has a doctorate, theyre a doctor, the field of study makes no difference. Its not very polite to throw your title at someones face, but its also not polite to not adress a doctor by their formal title at an official event, which senate hearings are. The senator couldve very well avoided that interaction, as well as the mocking intonation. Its not a good look. What he shouldve done is ask for credentials, but i believe those are provided in advance.

Uh, "it's doctor," insinuating I'm smarter than you. The opposite is actually true. I have 2 bachelor degrees and have worked circles around these so called doctors. The get docortorate is a single intity of study, NOT broad. Furthermore, these people get doctorate if the suck up the professor. Not sucking up gets you a masters degree which is a consolation prize, and they still call themselves doctors I'm many instances hiding the fact that they are not really Doctors. The term doctor should be reserved for medical field.

My father, a bombardier shot down over Germany and held in a Stalag there for 20 months, used the GI bill after the war to get a bachelor's degree, later a masters, and eventually a doctorate in Electrical Engineering. He also served in the reserves for another 15 or 20 years, rising to the rank of Colonel. He retired as the Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Dept at the University of Pittsburgh. Not once did he allow people outside of academia to refer to him as Doctor Hamilton. Not once did he allow people outside of the military to refer to him as Colonel Hamilton. This "doctor" is suffering from an inferiority complex but uses her soap box to twist the intent of the 1st Amendment to further the erosion of our right to Free Speech. I find it incredible that someone who spent at least 7 years in an institution of "higher" learning can be so ignorant.

Sorry, if the airline pilot asks if there is a “doctor” on board for a medical emergency and you cannot raise your hand, you are not a doctor. If you have a PhD and insist on being addressed with an honorific, it is more appropriate to use “professor”. What a narcissist. 🙄

The stupidity of 'is there a doctor' is, as a medic myself, you would want a medic, not a doctor unless it's an ER doctor. Nurses follow doctor's orders. Medics have an algorithm and can preliminarily treat, in lieu of medication/equipment, but have much better working knowledge of emergent situations. Many doctors (assuming they're medical) don't have emergency medicine proficiency.

Overseas, observationship to get licensed int he US. Most physicians start the same and have the general practice and experience the same. They then go and get board certified in their specialty or specialties. Military trained doctors and nurses follow the same patterns. MD or DO. floridasosteopathicmedicine.gov/licensing/ So if that "MD/DO" can't handle a medical emergency, they just wasted 3 years of their life training. I staffed hospitals and doctors office in over 35 states in the US. Always the same pattern.
