Hi Chrome! I do build custom fiberglass campers and repair truck caps, etc. For small repairs and spider cracks, preparing like you did is great! Make sure to wipe down well with acetone or mineral spirits for a dust free surface. Instead of using cloth/matt and resin, buy some long strand fiberglass filler (upol or bondo brand are locally sourced). It’s easier to work with, sand able/grinder in 30 minutes and easy to shape. Then use a finer fiberfiller as a finish coat, sand, paint.

Hi Chrome stick with single rear wheels. The military only uses single rear wheels so that there is NO chance for a rock to get wedged in between the tire sidewalls and destroy one OR both at the same time. When I was a highway truck driver some years ago I had this happen to me on the highway, not off road where there are lots of rocks. Have a nice day. Tom in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border.

Chrome, you can fill the holes with polyester foam as a backing. It’s commonly used in mold, making and plugs in the fiberglass industry. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a fiberglass roller. It won’t speed things along with spreading resin and you don’t have to worry about the fiberglass and the resin sticking to a brush or your gloves.

I'm not sure on the 7.3 but the 6.0 has a throttle position sensor. Can cause a dead pedal. A failing throttle position sensor (TPS) on a 7.3 diesel engine can manifest as symptoms like: rough idling, sluggish acceleration, stalling or surging, poor fuel economy, hesitation during acceleration, engine knocking or shaking, and in some cases, a check engine light due to incorrect readings sent to the engine control unit (ECU).

To fill a hole where you can't get access to the back side, you get some wire mesh (a bit larger than the hole), put it in the hole with some string or wire attached. Then you can pull the mesh back to the opening with the string. If you do it right, you will something to put the putty (whatever) on. When you are done, cut the string or wire.

That Demers ambulance look so good, very fluid lines. Sad I love the rear lights quite unique. An option, make them blend with the dame colour of the surround paint. Also you can fill large cracks with foam filler spray can but that will force you to using epoxy instead of ployester resins. Love it.

Talk about synchronicity, I was just wondering about Loren, and if he ever comes by your shop these days. It's as though the two of you had a major fall out. And, there he is in this episode. Nice to see he's looking well, and that you two still have smiles and cheer in your voices for each other. Merry Christmas Loren! Keep well.

Go pedal has a potentiometer on it as well as what's under the hood, wires should be checked considering the age and dielectric grease is your best friend for those connections possibly following up into the injector driver module if things continue. Have a 97 E350 myself... Beware any rodents, they caused me a considerable amount of grief. Peace to you brother Chrome.

What's up weirdos ✌️✌️ hey chrome got a tip for you bud take a drill bit find the end of the crack and drill a little hole through it what that does it prevents it from cracking even more even after you resonant epoxy it will still crack underneath if you don't stop the crack

We used to use storm door screen mesh wire fastened to the back side. Then apply the fiberglass, let dry, and sand.

For filling the holes, go talk with a body mechanic and utilize the knowledge of dry wall repairs. Putting a substrate piece inside-to-the-back of the hole and then puttying it over works really well. For example, we used to do metal repairs by hammering out an old license plate and welding/pop-riveting it in place, then Bond-O sealing it.

Idea. AMBO even now should have at least a temporary strong front bumper. I'd get an 8"x 8" 8 foot long square post, pressure treated, paint it black, and mount where permanent front bumper will be. It would look OK and provide some strong front protection. Cut the ends so on each side it's extended to outer edge of those huge tires. Also be something to stand on when messing under the hood. Best piece would be a center cut with heartwood for strongest.
