I always tell people who are new to drones to remember the 2 "P"s, Which are Point and Push. You "Point" the drone the direction you want it to go, then "Push" forward on the right stick. Those instructions to point and push have always helped me when I was instructing someone who was new to drone flying. No need to learn all the orientations all at once if you just remember to point and push when you are new.
@adakalyoncu1913 Жыл бұрын
It will be ineffective when you get in a condition where you have lots of obstructions and your gps doesn't work and you have to react in seconds to keep the drone from drifting. Yes it is a good way to not worry about orientation but if you asked me, I wouldn't let anyone who can't hover tail in, side orientations and nose in, in full atti mode to go to a high altitude long range flight, as a lot of things can go wrong at any time and need to be reacted fast and effectively. You might smash into a wall before you can yaw out and push forwards, whereas you can use the cyclic even diaognally to get the drone out of the obstruction if you know your orientation and can react fast

I've been 'heavily' involved in RC aircraft for close to 50 years, primarily gliders & sailplanes, and was fortunate to start when the systems were close to what we are using now, and had always wanted to fly helicopters, but they were too twitchy at the time and way too expensive as well - at least for the average everyday guy and drones were not available in the civilian market at the time. Started looking at drones a few years ago, but being retired and with limited funds the drones I preferred were still to pricey, so I decided to wait until they had worn out the "newness" and could be sold at a price I was willing to pay, so I really appreciated the information you presented and will take a serious look at a few of the higher-end drones you showed. Thank you for taking the time to share your information with us.

DJI also has a program that cost $60.00 dollars a year, that if your drone fly's off on you they will replace it and you the have the option of renewing that program annually, check that out. You can use a tablet if don't have a phone the drone apps are usually downloadable from google play or the manufacture's website. One of the biggest problems is screen glare in daylight, so a lot of these screens are just not going to bright enough to eliminate sun glare, so my advice is to buy one or make some kind of sun shield for the screen, it helps a lot. Another word of advice for beginners if you are flying it outdoors put your telephone number on it with a message saying if found please call this number. :), been down this road.

One important thing you might cover in the future is whether a given drone has an INTERNAL battery for the video subsystem and whether it is user replaceable. I've read the specs on a few drones that have a *separate battery/cell for the video subsystem* and from what I've seen it is NOT designed to be user replaceable and/or definitely not easily as swappable as the flight batteries. With heavy use, I'd expect a video battery replacement to be every year or so with a *nominally* 300 charge/recharge cycle lithium cell, because the capacity of a lithium cell decreases with every charge/recharge cycle. After TBD charge/recharge cycles it won't last long enough to send/capture video the entire flight. One may even find that even if flight time per flight remains relatively long, the amount of time you can acquire video in each flight decreases a lot more quickly. For example if I use 3 *swappable* batteries for flight which I can change out, then within a year I may still have a long flight time with a flight battery pack, but the video system battery...which I can NOT easily swap out...will only record and transmit video for a much shorter period of time. With a new drone I might start with 25min of flight and 25min of video, and after a year be getting 20min of flight with a flight battery pack, but only 10 minutes of video because I couldn't swap-out the video battery during flights. That means that no matter how many flight battery packs I bring with me, I'm still limited in how much video I can acquire during a day because the video battery eventually loses capacity with each flight...and I can't swap it out.

@@yourfreedom477 I did about 4 weeks back now. It's absolutely awesome. I'm in Mississauga (outskirts of Toronto) so the Wifi interface means max 1km range - and condos / schools break up connection too, but this thing is amazing. The gimbal stabilization is unreal.

A man of your word Steve 👍 Great update video, but cause for me to go looking through all of your reviews yet again! I cancelled my Zino order with Gearbest due to a 30 day shipping issue. Bought a Bebop 2 and after seeing this video wish I'd hung in there a bit longer to get the Zino Pro or X12 . . . Such is life . . that Poweregg is still beckoning too.

neat upgrade for your "best of" videos: You may consider to show drone camera video while flying! That is what people are searching for! I know you have all the video material, so you'll have no additional work to show this in your vids I 'll ❣️

Another informative video thanks. It would be unfair of me not to comment on my recent experience buying one of the Fimi X8 se drones. Fortunately I cannot blame you, as I had purchased prior to this video. I wouldn't like you to be blamed for people having the same experience as I did. I have to WARN UK BUYERS, beware of Banggood. The drone was dispatched from their European warehouse, thereby they avoid import taxes. When the drone arrived it had a faulty gimbal. I contacted Banggood, who were no better than useless to deal with, their e-mails were clearly automated and of no help whatsoever. Having resorted to contacting Fimi direct, who did try and resolve the problem, without success, I was left with having to return the drone to Banggood. Instead of returning it to Europe, I was forced to return it direct to China. Banggood return policy was that they pay for the return shipping if an item is broken or defective. WRONG, they only pay a maximum of £30 towards the return shipping, which was £76. They also expect the purchaser to pay the customs duty. STAY WELL CLEAR of Banggood. I agree the drone does appear to be an excellent drone, but I would warn and advise to purchase direct from Fimi if possible. They were helpful. Just as a point of reference, I have attached a link to a brief video I had to send to FIMI about the fault. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZO6k36OjtV8iac

Hi Mr. Steve, If you broke the poweregg they will still provide nice repair service for you The service is very nice I have a powereye drone and I did break the rolling case ( it is a big M43 monster drone) They still provided me a nice new case!

My video about buying drones from CHINA covers this issue. If you try to return it the expensive is yours & not worth it. The dealer you bought it from may give you a credit at minimum.

Another great video. I also really like the new graphics at the start. If I may make one (hopefully constructive) comment, when the video started I made a grab for the volume as it was very loud, but then when you came on I had to turn it back up. I am much more interested in hearing what you have to say (because it's always useful and interesting) than the intro music. Hope you don't mind me saying that. Other than that it was another really info packed video and clearly a lot of work went into it. Very useful. Thanks.

I currently have the fimi x8 se.. I love it , been fun to fly so far.. took it to Jamaica and got some pics .. However if I was just starting out I think I would have gone with the mavic mini for the cost and features that I feel I would use most.. I have not used a lot of the features that the x8 come with but that’s me ... but I do love flying it

And sometimes the cell phone is more expensive than the drone :))....FFS PowerEgg is a beast.....thing is that's not such a begginer drone (as the official price was in the beginning 1000E), but now it's cheaper :P (God bless Powervision) What i do not really like about the Powervision that it's hard to connect to my phone, but other than that, it's a great drone after it connects. P.S.: I've bought it from the Powervision dealership at 390$ with a spare battery :D. (not dealershit, but their homepage)

Thanks for your input on these drones for newbies. After watching your video I made my decision and purchased the JJRC X12 4K through Geekbuying which is a preorder and worth the weight because it was the lowest price on the internet. I mainly purchased it for taking pictures and video. Again thanks.

I see the selection is evolving in just the year that I’ve been interested. I don’t see many if the best sellers from Amazon from several months ago. I bought the Tello but was disappointed due to phone (S10) incompatibility problems. I suppose I just need a better drone. Thanks.
