2023 started with a full moisture profile from a flooded 2022. As the season progressed, rainfall returned to a slightly drier pattern. The critical months of August Sept and October were significantly drier than average with total growing season rainfall amounting to 186mm. mid 30deg temps in Sept followed by a frost on 22nd sept caused some damage to canola and lupins and to a lesser extent wheat in our valley. We were lucky to escape the worst of it. All in all a good season with relatively strong grain prices and harvest complete before the major rain events.
