Yeah, the whole Shoegaze + Post-Rock metal genre had a very good run during the early to mid 2010's. A lot of it was type-cast as Black-Metal, but I feel it wouldn't hurt to have its own genre (you know, because Metal doesn't have enough sub-genres already).

I have listened to anything like this before. It's so surreal and epic. Almost like modern classical music. It sends my imagination absolutely wild. It made me feel like I was witnessing a great tragedy, a huge city was being attacked by something, it wasn't evil it was just and unfeeling, it had come from the soul of the Earth and it had come to pretty much destroy the city because of it's greed. The people fought it and gave a good fight but all but a few died. At the end of the song it had gone and the people left and settled somewhere else, they seemed happy just to be alive.

Persephone was the daughter of Demeter, the goddess of fecundity and agriculture and crops, who was kidnapped to the underworld by Hades, rendering great famine across the land in Demeter's anguish, for she abandoned her shrines and her worshippers to pursue her lost child. It wasn't evil, but just and unfeeling, it caused great destruction, and all but a few would die. I would say it is not uncharacteristic to tie the tone and title of the music to such potent symbolism.

I have listened to so many albums since ive heard this, yet it sticks out to me as one of the greatest atmospheric metal songs ever made. @johnnydub2376 жыл бұрын
I've been listening to this periodically for the last 5 years and it is a true masterpiece. It truly never gets old and everytime I listen to it I find something new or feel something new. One time I was feeling in a mood, like the mood of this piece, and I took a bunch of ketamine, laid down on my floor, put my headphones on, and started to ascend into the astrals with this song. The way the sounds just carry and build and build is just incredible. Don't do drugs kids, or if you're going to do them, be safe about it. Peace.

If you listen to this and think "I'm very sophisticated me this is what my soul sounds like strangers" then you don't really get the piece or the genre or the music. Have some class.
