Yeah, blueberry snails, too small to pick up color with my phone camera. Thanks for watching Gabriel!

I’m glad the snails are breeding for you! Did you ever get confirmation on them ?
@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants20 күн бұрын
Yes, originally I reached out to Moonlight Aquatics, took a couple months to hear back, they claim they are the Blueberry subspecies. They have been importing them from Garenelio. I reached out to Garenelio, they claim their snails have been captive bred for about a year and that they haven't experienced any contaminants. They claim the only sustainably caught snails and that any other source that came after them have almost destroyed the natural ecosystem by inialating the wild snails. I asked if I could send them a picture, they declined and asked me to compare what I have to the pictures on their site. He (Kevin) also noted their pictures are taken under multiple light spectrums to show how they look under a variety of lighting conditions. I'll have to keep an eye on them as they grow just to make sure they are not the giant blueberry snails but based on the size of the adults I received they are most likely the standard blueberry's.

Nice update Ben! How many blueberry snails did you start with?
@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants20 күн бұрын
I started with 8. Four in that tank and four in a second tank. I've only noticed 1 baby in the other tank.

@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants Very awesome! I should have some arriving either this week or next week. I'm excited! How long have you had the snails?
@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants20 күн бұрын
About 4 months now. Unfortunately all the adults hide in the substrate. Once I have established enough baby's, I'll probably rake through the substrate and try to get an inventory of surviving adults.

@@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants oh wow, i didn't know they did that. I'll have to keep an eye on that.
