Years to Build, Days to Demolish, Holden Lane WMC, Sneyd Green

HOlden Lane Working Mens Club (WMC) officially opened its doors 1st Aril 1965, aftera completly new club was paid for by the current members, in excess of 400 people, each paying towards the costs (over £22,000). Finally they had a club of their own, providing entertainment from bingo nights to live acts, bringing the community of Sneyd Green together every day it was open for generations to come, right up until the demise and subsequent closure in 2018, despite attempts to keep it open.
In late 2021 Disaster struck the now derelict building in the form of arson, the fire ripped through the former club, severly damaging the roof and structure, was this the end for Holden Lane WMC????...........sadly a demolition order was granted and subsequtly carried out in January 2023, Holden Lane WMC which holds memories for so many, if you enjoy this, please be sure to like, share and subscribe.

My dad took me in the working men's club more times than I can remember. Saturday night was the highlight of the week with live entertainment & obviously THE BINGO LOL! I would go upstairs and play pool but that club was the heart of Sneyd Green characters and amazing people too. Great memories and looking at the bar etc, it really takes me back to an amazing era!!!
