aligibson2010 I absolutely agree with you. Here in Michigan, it always discussed me whenever I headed toward the lakeshores of lake Michigan, my wondrous views were often distorted with big ugly plants with huge smoke stacks. Thick, gray smoke for miles high. Always thought what us humans need to do to change the way we run things. Then about 5 yrs ago, I was driving to work when my eyes seen something quite remarkable. I sat and had to wait for a train. And on several cars if that train, carried several wind turbines (i mean sevaral) heading up north to bed installed. Day after day, more & more headed up north. Then I started to see several semi trucks carrying more day after day. Last year I took a road trip about 3 hrs north from my home to find these wind turbines. Not quite to Cadillac, MI, I spotted them EVERYWHERE. It was beautiful! It have me allot of hope that some day, wind farms would take over instead of these ugly, stinky plants that pollute our air. Thank you Ian for all you do to make a difference. Celebs or no celebs, we all need to be involved!!

Well, you see, the problem is: Everyone who is making so much money with slowly ruining this earth, they'll all be long gone before the real deal. They'll all live a happy life now and enjoy it for as long as it lasts and when suddenly everything goes to shit, they'll be dead already. They simply don't care and that's why it's so difficult to change something. If we want to make a difference, we all have to work together, but not everyone thinks that way..

I would LOVE to someone to HELP ME! I need you to write me here the exact name of that "plant" in the middle of the lake. We have something similar here in Argentina and Uruguay. There is this Uruguay river that goes between both country is one of the "arms" of huge rivers that comes from the north (Brasil and Paraguay). So Uruguay goverment allow this "plant" to located there and most of us and our people in this side of my country thinks it's a contamination that will kill lots of animals and contaminate the sweet water (controversy since 2 years ago)... sweet i mean ..not salty.. so.. i would love to know the exactly name so I can find in spanish something to coloborate to shut it down. THank you

my question is if ian somerhalder really cares about climate change why is he driving a normal petrol/unleaded/diesel car why isn't he driving a Hybrid car. As you might know a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor that runs off of a battery, as well by an internal combustion engine that kicks in when needed. The result is a more efficient car that produces less emissions.

sandra De Gaetano the majority of electricity still comes from coal. coal is the stage before the trapped biomass turns into liquid i.e OIL. Electricity made from coal is the same as burning oil. we are on a computer using electricity from coal and the computer usually have a lot of plastic that was made using patrollium. If you put 1/4 of oil in a plastic bottle that is how much oil is used to make that bottle.

One piece of advice to you is don't be part of a bogus organization such as this. These organizations are nothing more than powerful businesses with pretty TV shows which have nothing to do with making a change at all. They just want to make money, and lots of it! Have you not realized that they never actually teach anyone anything useful on these shows? If you really want to make a change then start with yourself and your community. Firs thing is to turn your TV off. Learn how to garden and grow food. Stop buying from supermarkets - they are the biggest polluters of all!! Change your job and do something useful for the planet. Take care of the elderly, don't lock them up in institutions. Give people hope and a job and stop them from stealing and ending up in prison (which is also a business). Don't plant just one tree, plant a million! Don't support wars because wars are an excuse to murder people for their resources, resources which will only end up in rich people's pockets anyway. And now we are back to the start...
