Andreas Nilsson: Around 2002, I lived in a small fishing village near Scotland and had this friend who was a shepherd. One day, he told me about a sheep that he delivered that looked like a loaf of bread: just one arm and one eye and a little mouth. It was still alive and waving with the arm, but they didn't know what to do so one of the more masculine guys among the shepherds killed it. I never actually saw it, but I thought, "I should keep this in my mind and do something with it one day."

If you listen to the lyrics it kinda makes sense about a message pertaining to the videos story in a way. Even when my luck is down I take joy in knowing that our love grows But if my vices are a burden Please don't let me off Cast me from your home It's getting hard to keep pretending I'm worth your time. The pet is ill, hanging on a thread. Though its existence makes her happy at the time but overall it realizes it's more of a burden than a benefit to her. Thus lets go so she can move on.

I wish people would not say, "This makes no sense!" when they mean, "This makes no sense to me!" I know it's unrealistic to expect people to understand subtle metaphors that are, in many cases, not something they can relate to in their own lives. It's realistic, though, to expect people to realize that not everything that they fail to understand is actually nonsensical. This video, while extremely unsettling, is really amazing. So is Kristen Bell's acting. Kudos to all involved.

I think the gruesome thing in the video represents the person singing. He seems to think himself unworthy of the beautiful girl in de clip. If you listen to the lyrics it makes sense.
