I think a big problem with ball in OW2 is that he was so well suited for 6v6 as you can have 1 tank sponge and ball create distractions. The goal is still to create distractions, but the reliance on the team to pick squichies or get good angles while you're distracting makes climbing so tough for ball mains.

Spilo and Awkward both teach that you should only use shield when you are in danger of dying. Basically you go in-and-out and do constant pressure, and shield when you are in danger. But in Yeatle's video, you were using the shield anytime you are engaging and can get a big shield, with no danger of dying. Maybe it has something to do with being able to grant the shield to teammates afterwards?

You usually want to win off the first engage so having an overwhelming amount of health makes it easier to be more aggressive or distract. There's also the part of it where if you don't shield the engage then you'll take more damage to your base health and need to heal before engaging again. I'd say the only times you wouldn't want to shield engages is if you're confident you're not going to take more than 100 or so damage (these are usually just bait engagement to force CDs).

I have a question. I've watched 4 ball unranked to gm. But the issue I'm having now is that I overperform and they go brig ana Sombra mcree and hog and just hard focus me trying to play around but the second I try to do anything I just have them on my ass like even the otherside and my team just doesn't kill anything and I sometimes get a pick. But you have any tips? I am now between plat 5 and diamond 3. Because the rng just gets me to lose however I gain 35% and I lose only 10 or 15 when I lose

tracer, sombra, pharah, echo, venture. mobile heroes are usually good since they can follow up and get out. supports aren't too big of a deal, play whatever you can stay alive on while also getting some abilities or damage off.

I’m a doom player. And so I hate counter picks as much as the next guy. But seeing yeartle play ball so well almost makes me glad counters exist. Bc holy sh*t he makes ball seem absolutely broken with zero counter play other than ignore the ball when he disengages and try and roll the team before he comes back

He calls Ball a noobstomper which is 100% true. Same as Winston, Doom, Hog. If you aren't against an enemy team that coordinates their punishment against you, there's just nothing ever in your way and your uptime is insane. Once you're up higher in Diamond and above, the Cassidy is not only landing hinder on you at the best times, but the rest of his team is also stuffing you with bullets. In Plat and below you're just getting randomly hindered and hit with a few 70dmg shots, doesn't stop you at all.

He actually tired and Unranked 2 Gm on Ball a couple months ago. It didn't go that well. It took him like 3 days and he only had like a 70% win % or something. Which is still pretty good but it was bad enough he said he wouldn't put it on KZbin and he didn't. You could probably find the VOD though on Twich.
