She wrote this song specifically for that live performance. She has never recorded a studio version of the song because of her mom but also because she said that this live performance of this song is the embodiment of the epitome of this song and a studio version would not do it justice. This live performance is not only the best that this song will ever be but it is one of, if not the best performance she's ever given. And it was her first performance ever (aside from church). She was 22 when she did this performance.

This performance is pure raw emotion. It catches lightning in a bottle and nothing will ever match it. She's said she'll never record this song, because she wants to honor what happened in that room.

Just saw it’s on Spotify but I think it’s the audio of that performance. It’s truly a blessing she was actually recording that show.

There is no studio version of this. She said she will not record this. After her mothers suicide a week after this recording, she has donated the proceeds from this youtube clip to mental health research. It is simply a masterpiece that will remain as it is. Love your attention to this amazing performance.

Welcome to Yebba world!! I commented on your Boomerang reaction that I come on KZbin for Yebba reactions. Haha! Glad to see you checking this one out. A little background… she performed this a few weeks before her mother committed suicide. There’s no studio version and she has said she wont sing it again. She did release this live version for streaming, in honor of her mom and mental health. Her song Evergreen, was written for her mother after she passed. Another good live performance. And yes, Tiny Desk is a must! Edit: October Sky, live version. Anotha one!

Yep, thanks for telling him. I adore her and pray she's working thru her personal tragedies. Her music reflects the passion that you just don't find with a lot of singers. Her album seem like she's on the path. I'm playing it on repeat.

I came across this a few years ago and it just blew me away . I like coming back to it every so often and have found reaction videos to be a cool way to revisit it because it provokes such strong reactions in people that can be fun to watch. Yours , I have to say . was one of the best despite the glitches . Very honest and heartfelt and good commentary . Was a joy to watch your reaction . Thanks . Would love to see you do a song called " If I Would Have Known " by Kyle Hume but do the cover version sung live by Lion at his brother`s funeral . He changed the lyrics a bit to make it more personal . The original is good too but there`s something especially poignant in the Lion cover .

So glad to see you reacting to this after boomerang. She is everything - she has an unbelievable voice, no doubt, but when she sings she makes you hear a whole story Some people get blown away by the chops and they don’t really connect to what she’s communicating. Noelia in the comments here posted about some big painful events in her life story and some of the songs that yebba wrote responding to that. would love to see you react to evergreen or october sky. They’re both so powerful! you really can’t miss with her though. It made me happy to see you say you might just binge listen and skip the reacting - that’s totally in your rights lol. i was fascinated by her right away too, and her songs really took me on a journey

Work your way up to the Tiny Desk performance. Check out her live duet with Clark Beckham (he was on American Idol). They do a cover of John Mayer’s Gravity that is amazing. Btw, Yebba’s mom passed not long before the Sofar performance of My Mind so the emotions are truly evident.

This was her breakout performance. She was signed by Ed Sheeran's folks immediately following this performance. She's PK, out of West Memphis, Arkansas. Roots in Gospel...cited The Clark Sisters and Aretha Franklin as greatest influences. She has won a Grammy with PJ Morton.
