@@orvonton7830 absolutely! You don’t see many artists in these times with souls at all, much less rendering themselves vulnerable to share their pain with their audience , especially at the degree she does. It does the world good to find things that most of humanity can relate to. Exposing our painful experiences heals experiences that have caused pains of division. A heart breaks the same way no matter it’s race, creed, religion, culture- etc. We all have pain in common as it never discriminates !!! That’s irony at it’s purest form.

The first time I heard Abbey Smith (Yebba) sing this song, it brought me right back to the very first time I ever heard Aretha Franklin in the 60's! Not that they sing alike, but that there is a deep in the soul communication going on, that I've never felt from any other artist. Though Ms. Franklin's music was not sorrowful like this song, but empowering, both of their music...inspiring!

Love Yebba aka Abbey Smith. She's done some awesome collaberations that you should check out. Someone else mentioned her collberation with PJ Morton on How Deep Is Your Love. Gravity with Clark Beckham will take you to church. Sam Smith and Luke Levinsen. Her first video to her song Evergreen is awesome! Its a dedication to her mom who committed suicide shortly after this performance of My Mind. It was filmed in the church she used to attend with her mother and the video was the first time she was able to step back inside that church. I follow her on IG and she's so cool and down to earth.

The first time I watched a reaction to this video it just hit me so hard , and it does it every time now . I can feel her pain , and I recall my Mom's pain when my Dad cheated on her on a regular basis back in the 70's . She had 6 kids to feed and was stuck with him . It was so sad to see her go through it . My dad was so blatant that he would drive right by our house with other women sitting next to him in his truck . My friends would say , "Hey , there's your Mom and Dad , and I'd say , that's not my Mom " . I was ashamed and disgusted by what he put her through , and somehow they stayed together until they both passed away a few years back . Yebba's emotional way of singing this and the obvious story just tears me up each time I hear it , but I get a sense of needing to hear it also , not sure what is making me want to hear it ?

@@MirayHanner99 Thank you , and I hear ya , and I know my Mom grew stronger and she taught us to be strong . I dont get as weak emotionally on any other song , but this singer and the song's story is just more than I can handle , but it's okay to feel such things , even for us grown men . I know some people dont react like this but they probably dont know the real pain of these situations . I dont know how the hell she survived all that plus raising 6 kids , not many could do that . She had me and my bro at home by herself because he was off somewhere getting drunk . She was a tough woman and had a heart of gold even after all the horrible treatment . My Dad changed later in life and became a pretty emotional person , I think because he felt such guilt and should have . Keep up the great videos

She sang it like that because she actually wrote the song! It was her first time to perform the song in public. The saddest part is that 1 week after performing this song her mother committed suicide. "Evergreen" is the song she wrote in tribute to her mother.
