I got a Yeedi Cube a week ago, and most of the software issues you mentioned have been resolved. I have not experienced any app crashes or freezes. The robot cleaned and mapped most of my home during the first run, and almost everything was mapped during the second run. It detected all the rooms and bathrooms, and I was able to divide, redivide, and merge them with no issues. I only encountered an error when trying to divide a room once, but I was able to divide it successfully on the second try. The issue with the robot being too conservative in wetting the mop while cleaning still persists. However, you can change the frequency of when the robot washes its pad in the station. Some pricier robots don’t even have a water tank on the robot and rely only on the station to wet the mops, so this is not a big deal. I’m still testing this and have one month to decide if I want to keep it, but im saving 400 CAD over going with the roborock q revo or the ecovac t20.

@GraysonCarr Жыл бұрын
Roborock Q Revo seems like a better buy since it’s regularly on sale for $700-$760 and has LIDAR and a better app, but if this goes on sale for $500 or so, it could be a decent option.
@jamie.andrews Жыл бұрын
The Q Revo is hard to beat at the price it is at. The one thing the Cube does better is with object avoidance, but only barely. The Cube is also more compact and has way more on board water.

It will come to the point, which one is usually built with quality (less failed part) parts :) ...I would choose Ecovacs ...my preivous T8+ cleaned 550K sqft before getting broken wheel! I immediately got 2nd T8+ :)!!

I have one, it gets lost in the dark. Its overly aggressive trying to get into rooms with closed off doors. Also i cant split my tooms up either. Ive 5 rooms....thats 3 according to the Yeedi cube. My brushes pulled off twice getting caught in the skirting board. Screwed in brushes are better
@jamie.andrews Жыл бұрын
Yea they robots with VSLAM like Yeedi and iRobot need well lit room to be able to see. Lidar can see in total darkness.

We call it an Yeediot precisely because of how often it gets lost and tries to break into rooms with doors closed. I'm looking at the Dreame L20 and hoping it does better at navigation.

Would you recommend the yeedi or the ecovac t20. Those are the 2 i'm down to bc the yeedi cube is 499.00 right now and the t20 is 699.00.
@jamie.andrews8 ай бұрын
The Yeedi will do most everything the T20 will do as far as cleaning your floors. The T20 has slightly better navigation due to using Lidar.

Excellent review, however, after checking out iRobots Jay's 7 plus and its companion at Costco j8 Plus reviewed for this video on KZbin. I also checked on the Dyson the V15s and the Dyson V15 , and it appears that the vacuum manufacturers are getting closer to what l want as an allergy sufferer l believe Dyson has a machine that will vacuum and wash trapping particles smaller than .003 down to .001. My SEBO has 3 Hepa filters and my HENRY has hepa for the motor and the exhaust. Which makes 2 HEPA FOR the Henry. I plan on checking the SPECS on the COSTCO IROBOT J8+ as it should go on SALE before 2024. Excellent review Andrew.

Thanks. Yes that is why I use Dyson for my main vacuum. I also use Coway Airmega air filter units throughout my home. Good stuff.

Hi Jamie! Great review. I've had the Yeddi Cube for about 2 months, my first robot vacumm. The obstacle avoidance on mine sucks, it's always hitting everyone, walls, couch, bed, chairs. When you showed your obstacle avoidance demo I was shocked because mine doesn't do that at all, mine is all scratched because of everything that it hits, is there a way I can "fix" the obstacle avoidance on my robot to have it similar to yours? Are you using a specific mode?
@jamie.andrews6 ай бұрын
No I am not using any special mode. You do have to make sure it is turned on in the app though otherwise something could be wrong with your unit.
@MyFederico966 ай бұрын
Ohhh, I didn't know that there was an option to turn on the obstacle avoidance, how do I turn it on? 😅, I can't find the option in the app
@jamie.andrews6 ай бұрын
@@MyFederico96 I just checked and you can not turn it on or off. Sorry.
@jamie.andrews6 ай бұрын
BTW the obstacle avoidance does not keep it from bumping into walls, chair legs, furtiture etc. All robots will do that and use the front bump sensor to get as close as possible to those things. Some hit harder than others too. Obstacle avoidance is to detect and avoid objects in your room on the floor like animal waste, shoes, toys etc.
