I had this happen to me before when I had a hero ditto and we both had bounce, I think it's just maybe the incredible reflection magnitude causes the kafrizz multihits to knock you out before the finisher, or maybe the finisher DOES have the ability to get reflected still while the multihit doesn't. It's kind of confusing...

it could also be possible that heros shield blocks the main hit of the projectile, and the multihits still linger

The way Hero was aware his instinct because he knows that he should not use magic against Kazuya but it came lead himself to a bad start! Hero (Eleven): I have Fireball with Bounce!
