@akaikage3122 жыл бұрын
No a call out is when you prepare your opponent to do something, like with a bait. a read is to know what they love doing and punish them for doing it

I just commented this 🤣🤣
@jayymorris52852 жыл бұрын
@@akaikage312 But isn't that a bait-and-punish? I'll look for the time stamp in a second, but in the fight Bowser v Diddy, Bowser threw the banana, knowing D would dodge and punished accordingly was a prime Bait-and-punish

whats the difference between a read and a callout?
@Pepsiburkham2 жыл бұрын
I think of it like this, a read is you predicting what your opponent is going to do and using a move beforehand to catch it. A call out is seeing the move your opponent is doing/trying to do and punishing it
@TeenXtacy2 жыл бұрын
A callout is if they have a specific habit they keep doing throughout the match or set, and you (obviously) call them out for it

What's the difference between a read and a call out? Is read the action and call out is the punish? They seem to be used both definitively different and interchangeable lol
@TheIceManSSB20012 жыл бұрын
A read is predicting your opponent’s option not based on prior interactions necessarily, whereas a generally just throwing out a big committal move against your opponent’s repetitive option.
@jayymorris52852 жыл бұрын
@@TheIceManSSB2001 I would have assumed the opposite as "reading" insinuates that the opponent has displayed their actions as "easy to read" or "readable"
@TheIceManSSB20012 жыл бұрын
@@jayymorris5285 Not necessarily, reading is more committal in the sense that you are making a prediction, whereas calling out someone implies that they have gotten away with using a certain option multiple times and you’re just now deciding to punish it correctly.
