One of the finest Gazals ever composed. Ravi composed this number keeping Rafi in mind. And Rafi made this immortal. The story goes this way... Ravi made Rafi rehears this composition. Mohd Rafi was very happy with the composition, but requested Ravi that the word Accha comes 11 times in the song and that he allow Mohd Rafi to sing it in 11 different ways. Ravi agreed and the result was mind blowing. Listen to the word Accha and you will understand what Mohd Rafi was... Amazing!!

It is law of nature that Muhammad Rafi Sahib was not given Bharat Ratna, it was a good decision as he was much superior than these useless awards or rewards. Would these useless awards have given him more respect, love, fame, caliber or talent he had. I am now 71 and found of old songs, I honestly believe that all male or female singers in the subcontinent are thousand Kilometers away from his caliber. Allah gave him such a voice, dignity, respect, talent, love and character even living in such a dirty environment of film industry. No smoking no drinking & no scandal which are the basic parameters of a very different & great person. When there was a conflict with Lata Ji, he said NO NEED OF LIFETIME AWARD from my songs, such a great thought no greed. Now only what can I give him which can be useful for him at the heavens is DUA, My dear Rafi Sahib, May Allah bless you, Aameen, Aameen. I cannot measure the extent of respect & love I have for you as whenever I listen his classic songs I enjoy a lot & not able to understand how you developed such a FUN because as far as voice is concerned it is only Allah who can gift to any one he wants. This singing is ethereal. That softness, that silkiness, that velvety feel, that feeling of gentle waves of flowing water at every high note! And that extreme ease in rendering a very difficult sound of word achchhaa, at end of stanza, without next word to cover for the difficult word, in so many ways, at such high pitch, yet in tremendous control! It's like maneuvering a supercar expertly with single hand on steering wheel on sharp hairpin turns while keeping liquid still in a cup held in another hand. This singing is much more difficult than even this example. Very few people realise & know that this singing is colossal. Had this happened in western world, they would have made this world-known. And they would have made it reference-piece for singers to come.

At the time of the making of this song.. Music Composer Ravi Shankar Sharma felt that the lyrics ending with word 'Acha' is feeling like incomplete.. So he requested lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi to add jst one word after 'Acha' but he denied telling tht the shayari will go out of its balance.. And it will ruin the song.. Instead he insisted to keep lyrics as it is and try to compose on it only.. Ravi Shankar Sharma was now worried..bht then Rafi Sahab said not to worry he will handle it on the time of recording.. It is law of nature that Muhammad Rafi Sahib was not given Bharat Ratna, it was a good decision as he was much superior than these awards. Would these useless awards have given him more respect, love, fame, caliber or talent he had. I am now 71 and found of old songs, I honestly believe that all male or female singers in the subcontinent are thousand Kilometers away from his caliber. Allah gave him such a voice, dignity, respect, talent, love and character even living in such a dirty environment of film industry. No smoking no drinking & no scandal which are the basic parameters of a very different & great person. When there was a conflict with Lata Ji, he said NO NEED OF LIFETIME AWARD from my songs, such a great thought no greed. Now only what can I give him which can be useful for him at the heavens is DUA, My dear Rafi Sahib, May Allah bless you, Aameen, Aameen. I cannot measure the extent of respect & love I have for you as whenever I listen his classic songs I enjoy a lot & not able to understand how you developed such a FUN because as far as voice is concerned it is only Allah who can gift to any one he wants.
