What a gentle and sweet man to teach you to play the violin. He knows how to talk to young people, as did Dorothy Delaye . I often wonder what Heifetz was like as a teacher, I am told that although he was a brilliant Violinist that he was a hard person to get on with .

Read the book "Heifetz as I Knew Him", by Ayke Agus. She was a student in his master class, and she was his piano accompanist for several years toward the end of his life. It's not quite a full biography of Heifetz, but it's an outstanding book by a woman who was very close with him near the end of his life. There's quite a few good stories about him as a teacher and as a friend. I highly recommend it.

Terrible series of masterclass far too over complicated and fragmented in delivery When you teach the student should focus on the music focus on producing the best sound the teachers job is to intervene when a technical roadblock prevents this goal. Teaching techincal alone is futile
