@@texasred1894I mean to be fair, there's still a lot of things we humans are ignorant about. And it's pretty much a fact that every island people have settled on has been ruined by our presence.

Well yeah, they don't belong there. They would never have naturally gotten there in the time span that they did without our interference.

It's either that or their colonies starve. The ants don't really understand that they're an invasive species, they just have to hunt whatever it is they can eat, and they have to kill it however they can kill it. I realize that probably doesn't make it any more comfortable, though. It is an intense, deep sadness. Nor can I fully blame the humans who probably had no idea they were even carrying crazy yellow ants. The only way to truly prevent things like this would be to never travel. And, well... that's just not an option for us as a species. Same reason why yellow crazy ants have to hunt the way they do. So all we can do is mend our mistakes as we discover them.

@user-rs8ky8hv6s
@user-rs8ky8hv6s 8 күн бұрын
@@DundG You, like so many others before you, are completely missing the point. There's nothing natural about this. We humans upend and defy the natural order I'd things, causing utter chaos. Those ants NEVER would have that island on their own in the time span that they did (less than two hundred years) naturally. EVER. On their own, it would have taken them millions upon MILLIONS of years to reach Christmas Island, and even then it would have been complete luck and only a handful of survivors would have survived the journey That's how organisms that can't FLY got to islands in the first place before we interfering humans got involved. TOTAL LUCK. And I KNOW why Terror Birds went extinct, and that didn't happen naturally either! I have strong reason to suspect that humans were involved directly or indirectly with the demise of the last terror birds too, so.....what exactly the hell are you getting at here? None of this is happening NATURALLY. We humans esxew the natural order and create utter chaos. And even if we humans had nothing to do with the end of the terror birds and it did happen naturally, that was because of natural continental drift and naturally being outcompeted. It has nothing to do with humans UNNATURALLY introducing species to new environments they would have taken MILLIONS OF YEARS to reach on their own. Why don't YOU do some research on island extinctions over the last 10,000 years, and how we humans caused ALL OF THEM.
@DundG
@DundG 8 күн бұрын
@@user-rs8ky8hv6s We humans caused the change in climare that lowered the sea level, so that north and south america got connected and terror birds got outcompeted by the sabertooth tigers? Wow, we must've been powerfull back then to cool the planet down!
