Not embarrassing at all! I react the same way when it comes to Nat lol. I mean are you really a yj stan if you don't have a parasocial relationship with at least one of the characters??🤔
@chasealan216611 ай бұрын
Not at all I thought similarly about everyone blaming Lottie for everything (I could have thrown something too when Nat says they got over it lol) she feels honestly the most innocent of all of them (at least right now lol)…she’s dealing with mental illness and all she seems to want to do is help people…she didn’t mean for her little woods cult to go dark like that I don’t think…only thing I can think of that made me question her was her last line in season 1 “let the darkness set us free” like is that the wilderness talking or the cabin guy or what? Idk just rambling lol

2x9 is such a fascinating turning point for Lottie and Shauna in the wilderness every day i mourn that we got so few scenes showing their new status quo and we're gonna have to wait sooo long to see the Lottie - Shauna - Nat tether struggle that Courtney was talking about.

Your unwavering stanning of Lottie has honestly made these my favorite yj reactions so i dont think you have anything to apologize for haha but then again I am sort of Ben apologist so maybe im the wrong one to ask 😬 I definitely agree season 1 was stronger but I did enjoy 2 more than most. Even though I was not a huge fan of her storyline I thought Callie really grew into a much more interesting character this season. Completely agree about Van not getting enough screen time in really either season, she is still my favorite character in both timelines and really hope we get so much more of both Actor's absolutely stellar performances. I think the biggest reason this season was a bit rockier is it was by its nature a very transitional chapter. It had to do so much work to bridge the gap between the initial survivalism and teen drama of season 1 and the full on ritualized canibalism we know is coming that I don't thinking it gave enough breathing room to the characters and storyarcs in the past timeline. It was also hindered I think by being so stuck in the cabin. However I do think now that that work is done and we have finally reached the Hunt and the Antler Queen, forced back out into the wilderness and with a more tangible enemy/antagonist in Ben, season 3 at least in the past timeline could be absolutely fantastic.
@nekrataali11 ай бұрын
I hope the series' plot twist is Ben survived out in the woods on his own for the last 25 years and has been plotting revenge for Jackie's, Crystal's, and Javi's deaths (in addition to kills we haven't seen yet). At the end of this season, I think the feast in the pilot episode (and one of the most iconic images from the show) has the following survivors around the campfire from left to right: Lottie/Mari/Akilah (not sure what order), Shauna, Natalie, Travis, Tai, and Van with Misty off-screen.

Poor Lottie is used as the scapegoat in their minds so they can feel not as guilty, but she is the only one that accepts and tries to deal with the trauma and mental illness. She also never wanted them to take that path, she just wanted everyone to survive. Offered herself in case she died but never wanted anyone to die in her place. Edit: I'm on minute 6:01 and don't you worry that is indeed the normal and appropriate reaction to misty gaslighting Lottie. I reacted the same way and had to take a walk.

Like the only time so far when she actually endorsed any of the violence was when she was on shrooms. And when you already have hallucinations it's very hard to not give in while high on hallucinogenics.

You weren't kidding about your Lottie-shaped glasses, LOL! Still, an excellent video and don't be embarrassed. My wife and I have loved this show, and while we liked S1 more than S2 as well, that's not to say we didn't love S2. I thought both seasons were great, and there were some things about S2 I really really loved - Adult Val, Callie's development, Misty & Walter for example. My biggest issue with this show is how long I have to WAIT to see any more 😭 Hopefully, eventually, we will get a season 3, and when we do I hope you'll continue to make reaction videos of it.

If I remember correctly, the reason they killed Natalie off was because the actress didn't want to be in the show anymore. And in a way, I kinda like the decision. It really makes you realise that this story does not have a happy ending. It truly makes me believe that by the time the show is over, all of them will be dead
@rhaenatargaryen806111 ай бұрын
Season 2 being worse than Season 1 is a very real take actually. The adult timeline especially was most of the issue but there were other issues ofc. and thats okay so long as Season 3 is different, imo.
@penoyer796 ай бұрын
that's the problem with mystery shows... we saw it with LOST. you pose questions and people want them answered... and it becomes this source of frustration. every season "we got no answers!" also mysteries are tough because 9/10 times the destination is a let down compared to the wonder of the journey.

I'm a little scared the writers will go down the "we want to surprise everyone, so let's pick an ending that doesn't make any sense, but at least was not guessed by the fandom" route...

I think Juliette Lewis really struggled with acting from such a dark place (she did voice her frustration with Nat’s decision to unalive herself at the end of season 1). Even though her character survived. I remember the distinct feeling of “ohh, that must be very different from what they originally pitched to her” I saw the panel show that all of the main characters participated in after the end of season 1 & Juliette was a “barely contained ball of fury” … I don’t know all the details but someone clearly pi$$ed in her cornflakes because that woman is one helluva actress (Oscar winner at 18, for Cape Fear ) So yea, I was very sad to see her go… but I think we could all feel how miserable she became as Adult Nat 😢

the more i sit with season 2 the more i appreciate it for how wild and weird and tragic it is. then again lottie, nat (and travis) are my favorite characters and dynamic and i feel like they got the strongest and most interesting story arcs this season so i'm pretty biased lol... a reluctant messiah a heathen and a disciple forever bound in an endless cycle of faith and guilt and death!

@snarkysquirrel11 ай бұрын
i dont think that ben took "their" stuff cuz he couldnt survive on his own. he was part of the group and they were all using supplies they found there or had on the plane. for him to seperate to not be with people who are hunting and eating each other he needs a few things. he took less than tai did when she went to go off into the woods. this episode had a lot going on, it was really chaotic. and really sad. the last part of it was really tragic in both timelines and theres some concerning stuff i think will hopefully be adressed next season. also juliette lewis wanted to leave, they didnt write her off against her will. so that probably played into killing of a favorite.
@nekrataali11 ай бұрын
Yeah Ben is the only one who still seems to have any kind of moral compass. It's one thing to eat someone who died by accident. It's entirely another to actively hunt someone down, especially a child. Juliette Lewis AFAIK prefers movies because they don't have the time commitments (she has a band). She didn't think the show would make it past the first season because Showtime is...well Showtime. As a recovering addict, the show was also taking a toll on her physically. Even though she's just acting, there's still a physical response to fake alcohol/drugs. Muscle memory kicks in, which can be really rough when you're trying to stay sober.

I’m so annoyed they wrapped up the Adam Martin investigation with none of the Yellowjackets involvement. Instead it was wrapped up in the most contrived way possible with Walter Ex-Machina. Less of that next season I hope.

walter-ex-machina is taking me out. I'll use that going forward. thank you. it was a very convenient plot line (maybe even lazy), but who knows, perhaps he had some ulterior motive we'll find out about next season...
