Tai is my favorite character but I agree she’s a narcissist. That was such a good question and such a great answer.

Always such good questions! And I love Tawny but fully disagree with her there. Even at her worst, Tai seems conflicted and morally ambiguous/compromised, but I don’t think “at her core she’s selfish, she’s a narcissist”. I think she has narcissistic/egotistical traits, and is self-interested/selfish in a way that many high achieving type A personalities are. But I’ve not seen anything yet that points to Tai being a full-on clinical narcissist. Meanwhile, there I was thinking Nat was a double agent at the retreat 😂

i'm actually surprised to hear Tawny considers Tai a narcissist. i'm not sure if i agree with that, i think she's very type A and needs things to unfold in a certain way to feel comfortable. i would consider Shauna to be a narc. Misty, for sure. i do think Tai cares for others and isn't completely selfish. esp young Tai, she was so worried how her sleep walking was going to effect the others, Van specifically. she didn't care how it played out for her, she just didn't want Van to be hurt by it.

Yeah I think there’s a huge difference between having narcissistic qualities or having an egotistical streak and being a clinical narcissist. I think Tai is the same kind of big ego personality that most high achievers are, but a narcissist is something else entirely and I haven’t seen Tai enter that territory yet
