What a fun adventure - When we went Yellowstone I thought the times on the map were walking /hiking times - not driving times around the loops - and we had our 1 year old grandson with us - it was an entire day of driving in the car with a bunch of stops to walk up to falls and such - we were not well prepared for that situation but it was really beautiful. I'm excited for your Teton adventure - the last time I drove throught the Teton National forest I was rushing to get to my daughter who's water had broken and was in the hospital having her first baby - so I missed a lot of the beauty BUT I got there in time to see my granddaughter be born! Phew! Thanks for sharing Noelle

Perfect for short campers mistake many make going to Yellowstone don't realize those 40 foot motorhomes, and SUV's they are towing won't get a campsite.

So when you get a site to camp in whether it's boondocking or at a rv park how do you save your spot while you go to town pr out site seeing? Do you use orange cones or leave chairs. What is your strategy?
@IreneIronTravels4 жыл бұрын
At most rv parks they will give you a site occupied sign you can use. Also, we have a clam tent, rug and chairs that stay when we leave. Boondocking is a little different, were we usually stay at the site. Don't quite feel comfortable leaving the tent....

What gps unit do you have, I see you replaced the kenwood garmin unit that came with the airstream interstate?
@IreneIronTravels5 жыл бұрын
It is called the Joying 10.1 android radio for about $400 bucks on ( amazon affiliate link - amzn.to/2ZZYIfC) Actually, two of the Kenwood units failed on this coach! One, a couple months after the original owner bought it, replaced under warranty. Then, the second, about a month after we bought it! When I researched radios, there was no way I was going to put another one in and the big 9 inch Alpine was close to $1000. But, what sold me on the android radio was its similarity to a phone or large tablet. You can download any android apps and I just like google maps way better then Garmin gps. The updates are free and the radio can connect to a hotspot or it can use its own sim card if you wanted a full plan for it.
