So glad you got to see Yellowstone while you are so young and healthy. I was a grandpa many times over and just a little while after the heart attack which was the only limiting factor to my enjoyment. We descended the other side of the canyon and the kids got behind and helped push me back up and out. There really is so much to see. A waterfall or geyser around every corner and wildlife everywhere. Thanks for taking me along for some rekindled memories.

@wellsonwheels4574 жыл бұрын
My two cents on the favorite of the two parks is they’re both awesome in their own way and you’re right you have to go to Yellowstone if you’ve never been but as for me and my family we have been so much that we often just go to the Tetons now I think once you’ve been to Yellowstone a handful of times the Tetons keep calling you back for a lifetime. But Yellowstone has a very special place in my heart and it’s always fun bringing people there that have never seen it before. Also in the mini trips we have spent going up there every trip is unique and special and we could never get tired of going
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
That’s a great answer! They both have such a WOW factor, but for different reasons. We really want to hike more at the Tetons-our time there was too short!

Some thing I’ve learned in the last 20 years of sunrises and sunsets is that weather can sometimes make them the most dramatic pictures/ moments, colors if your lucky. Just thought I would share. So cool! Love me some yellowstone

Thanks for putting out such great videos! Tetons is nice because the trails are awesome. Some of the sites are there as well. The thing I didn’t like about the Tetons is RVs, Truck campers and tent campers. Too many people. Over commercialized. But that can be Yellowstone. It all depends on the time of year. I saw more wildlife in Yellowstone in April. But in August I saw more in Tetons. Yellowstone is the bomb. It’s amazing because of how big it is and how many things there are to do. The geology can keep one wondering for the rest of your life. Been there five times and haven’t seen it all.
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын

Ok guys, what would you prioritize for one day in Yellowstone? I think the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone looked awesome and Grand Prismatic? We have our doggos so the 2nd day we can't really do any hiking!
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
We really loved seeing Old Faithful and seeing the morning glory pool! Grand Prismatic is amazing, especially if you see it from the trail that is higher above it. The Grand Canyon is also a quick stop and so cool! I thinkkkk you could do all of those in a day if you start early! It’ll be a very long day though, but a lot of the stops are either easy walks or just stop and look at an overlook. If you wanted, the second day you could do the Grand Canyon since it’s really not much hiking (minus the waterfall, but it’s pretty short). I hope that sort of helps!

I've been going back to both parks since a child in 1968, probably more than 20 times now. Comparing them is somewhat apples to oranges, but i would definitely give the tip to Yellowstone. For one there is so much wildlife, as well there are several geothermal basins you missed such as Mud Volcano, West Thumb, and Norris. As for towns, Yelliwstone has West Yellowstone MT, right on the boundary of the park (just as close as Jackson is to Teton). Both towns are a bit of a tourist trap, but i would say West Yellowstone is less of a tourust trap than Jackson.

I'm with you Kathryn, marginally prefer Yellowstone to Grand Teton, but my other half sides with you Adam! The view of the falls from that lower view point is so good. I'm fairly sure we were there just a month before you (August '19) and it was shut off for us 😢 The Lamar valley was the highlight for us - did an early morning drive which was so-so, but did an evening drive and saw a black bear getting chased by a couple of Bison and later a stand off between a mamma bear protecting her 3 cubs from a pack of coyotes, we got so lucky! Did you guys camp in the park in the end, or did you drive in each day?

Woo! Go team Yellowstone! (Although it’s SO close-Grand Teton is amazing!) It sounds like we were there just weeks apart. We are so jealous you saw a bear! Maybe this summer we will finally see one (from a safe distance). We only had one night in the park and we got a campground to make it easier since the BLM land was all a bit farther away. It was great!
