Hello Captain Mike,we went 60 miles off Naples last month, got to our destination at 8:00 pm and fished into the night, 120 feet of water on a huge wreck. Every single drop we got absolute flag yellowtails, as we had a weight scale, anything under 2.5 went back into the water and got our limit on yellowtails with plenty of 3 pounders, biggest wound up at 4.5, we got everything from huge yellowtails to weird sharks, a few slob mangroves, picked off a fat mutton in the morning just as we woke up, a 300 pound goliath, and the best part- 6 permit at 2 am with crabs we netted, all 20-30 pounders on a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500. That, my friend, is a fight i will never forget! Also, I'm purchasing a Chaos offshore spinning rod with cool engraved marks ion the rod. Thanks!

Great video, Mike. Did you guys run north to Boca? I find the yellowtail action somewhat better there than around Hillsboro (last Friday night notwithstanding, when we had an engine die on us and had to cut our anchor off due to getting it jammed up in something - not our most productive night ha).

What kind of setup do you have to power all of the lights and electronics? Do you have a separate isolated circuit for accessories that won't interfere with the ability to start the engines, or do you use separate external batteries?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 8 жыл бұрын
+xmask321 We have five batteries aboard our SeaVee 370Z, three starting batteries for each of the three outboards and two house batteries that all of the electronics/lights, etc run off of. Additionally we have a parallel switch, so even if both house batteries die, and two of the three starting batteries die, as long as I have one charged starting battery I can fire up all of the motors and recharge the entire system. Pretty awesome! Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike

@FloridaSportFishing

Yellowtail fishing in Key West is solid. Best to fish with a light 12-20 lb class spinner with a long 12 or 15 lb leader. They can be very line shy. A small jighead tipped with fresh strip or shrimp is excellent. - Capt Mike

Hello Mike , nice video. What is your opinion on the Shimano Saragosa , and what size would you choose for shallow to deep jigging and popping , will be spooling up with 75lbs braid with a diameter of 0.35mm. i am deciding between a 10000 and 20000
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 8 жыл бұрын
+Tiaan Barnard Where are you fishing, locally here in Florida? If so, I would stick with 50 lb braid and go with the 10000. - Capt Mike

I am thinking of buying the daiwa saltist STT5000 for 75lb braid . I saw it first on your videos , and was realy impressed with it , ond of its cheap price . What are your thoughts on it ?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 8 жыл бұрын
+Tiaan Barnard No, you will not be able to apply enough drag pressure for 75 lb braid, stick with 40 or 50 lb. braid on that reel or step it up to a Daiwa ISLA7000 for 75 lb braid.

@FloridaSportFishing

+Chase Cook What sort of species are you looking to catch? - Capt Mike
@SailTheSaddle
@SailTheSaddle 8 жыл бұрын
+Florida Sport Fishing any of the Pelagic species that people would typically eat, Kings, blackfin, wahoo, dolphin. I usually troll a 4 line spread with different color feathers. About 4-6 inches
@gsujeff55
@gsujeff55 8 жыл бұрын
+Chase Cook For dolphin, i like to look for weed lines and troll them. You can usually pick up some nice ones. If you do hook one, keep it in the water behind the boat and throw a couple chunks of cut bait back toward the fish. The schoolie dolphin will start eating like mad men. Have some rigs ready on spinning gear to toss back and you can load up on dolphin quickly. Wahoo are a tougher target, but typically hang over structure or big ledges. Always be on the look out for temp breaks in the water as this holds both types of fish as well. 6-8mph.

Isn't that dangerous, probably illegal to turn off all lights and fish/anchor/hangout in total darkness? If not illegal, I would still be concerned someone would crash into me and who would blame them... they couldn't see me.
@FloridaSportFishing
