Must be a coincidence because I was just listening to a song that mentions this Orisha. Tho in the song she's called Yemaya.

I’m just recently diving into learning about this religion. I want to make sure I understand correctly. Is an Orisha similar to like an Ahura of Zoroastrianism or an Angel in Christianity? Someone who is a in-between or conduit between the higher deities and humanity.

Abegi the translation is wrong "Yemoja great mother" A god like a mother doesn't exist. (Loosely translated) no one can replace or compete with a mother.
