1950 yılında inşa edilen ve 1954 yılından 2013 yılına kadar 59 yıl boyunca Tarsus Adliyesi olarak kullanılan bu tarihi taş binanın Tarsus Müzesi olarak değerlendirilmesi kentimiz ve turizm adına çok yerinde bir karar oldu.
Kültür Bakanlığı tarafından restore edilen ve 22 Aralık 2020 itibariyle hizmete açılan bu müze, modern müzecilik anlayışının izlerini de kapsıyor. Tarsus'un on bin yıla dayanan tarihi ayrı ayrı galerilerde, sadece bulunan tarihi eserlerle değil müzik ve video gösterimi yoluyla da anlatılmaya çalışılmış.
Tarsus'un sadece arkeolojik değerleri değil etnografik değerlerinin de yer aldığı bu müzede Ashab-ı Kehf Mağarası yedi uyurların mankenleriyle çok etkileyici bir şekilde anlatılmaya çalışılmış.
Bu müze tekrar tekrar gezilebilecek tarihsel zenginliğiyle önce bu kentte yaşayanları ve sonrasında kentimizin ziyaret eden yerli ve yabancı misafirlerini bekliyor.
Artık bu kente gelenlere sadece şelâleyi ve tarihi evleri değil bu müzeyi de göstermeli, Tarsus'un tarihi ve kültürel zenginliğini herkese anlatmalıyız.

Tarsus Archeology Museum
This historical stone building, which was built in 1950 and used as the Tarsus Courthouse for 59 years from 1954 to 2013, is a very appropriate decision for our city and tourism to be considered as the Tarsus Museum.
This museum, which was restored by the Ministry of Culture and opened to service as of December 22, 2020, also includes the traces of modern museology. The history of Tarsus, which dates back to ten thousand years, has been tried to be explained not only with historical artifacts but also through music and video shows in separate galleries. In this museum, which includes not only the archaeological values ​​but also the ethnographic values ​​of Tarsus, the Ashab-ı Kehf Cave is explained in a very impressive way with the mannequins of the seven sleepers.
With its historical richness that can be visited again and again, this museum awaits the residents of this city and then the local and foreign guests visiting our city.
Now, we should show those who come to this city not only the waterfall and historical houses, but also this museum, and tell everyone about the historical and cultural richness of Tarsus.
