Thanks for checking out my Yenkro Fairing video. I'm a fully paying, satisfied customer in The United States. I recently completely modified my 2022 Suzuki DR650SE and the Yenkro Fairing is perhaps the centerpiece of all my mods as well as my favorite. It has no equal currently on the market and has completely transformed my bike. Also check out my Complete Mods Video to see all of the changes I made across the entire bike. Thank you for watching and please subscribe for more gear and adventure travel videos.

I can't stand the look of the 6.6 gal. tank. However, paired with this set up, it looks amazing. I use my DR650 for mostly dirt and wouldn't for my set up. Maybe I will pick up another one and do this set up for light adventure. I fell in love with the DR650 over a decade ago because of many reasons, one being the versatility and an other being the aftermarket support. You can turn the mighty DR650 into anything you want with bolt on parts.

Thanks for watching and commenting, Jon. Agreed. I love the bike. For highway time, the size and weight is perfect. For off-road and tight conditions, I wish it was 100 pounds lighter. But I’m getting better and better.

Thanks so much, Oxintar! Your kindness and appreciation means a lot. I couldn’t agree more and I stand in awe of Joe’s (Yenkro) vision, design, engineering and beautiful mind. I mean, seriously, Joe envisioned this product and meticulously designed it with the eye of an experienced rider, then designed and built the machine to build the product. Truly a beautiful mind.

It seems priced fairly competitive compared to other options out there but the thing I can't get used to with pretty much all fairings/towers is how far out they are from the handlebars. I'm going to try a 100 dollar windscreen to start for my 701 and maybe eventually I'll end up with one of these. Thanks.

If you have lived in Jax. very long, you may have seen a man riding his Harley from the sidecar he built for it. He lost his legs in military service. There are many good engineering firms in Jax. Because of its location on the ocean/ river / US Navy shipyards & closeness to Daytona Beach, there are many ways to earn money there.

Would it be possible to hook up a dimmer to the low-beam LED so that they could be dimmed for road use? Decreasing wattage usage is pretty important on a DR but I also don’t like blinding oncoming traffic.
@GeordieMac

Gosh, I don’t know. Personally, I like oncoming traffic being very aware of me. I also upgraded my battery and stator.

Gotcha. Yeah, there’s a fine line between visibility and being a nuisance with these new super bright LEDs. I mean, there’s a reason a lot of them aren’t DOT approved haha. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Just found your channel. Good luck on your trip!

Hey, Clint! I was just in touch with Joe of Yenkro and he said when they are adjusted correctly they do not blind oncoming traffic because they have a low beam cutoff. Hope this helps. I’m deep into Mexico on my adventure and am definitely loving the Yenkro!

No. Off-road, I often fly ahead of front tire. When boulder obstructions are unavoidable. I don't need to also damage a Yenkro Fairing. I'd hurt less without tumbling through it. Between Canada and Central California at posted interstate speeds I needed no fairing.

Hello and thanks for watching and commenting. I believe the cost is on the Yenkro website. I didn’t want to quote it because it might have changed and it all depends on the options you choose. Sorry that’s not a help, but give the website a look.

@@stevenjohn4 You've got me thinking now - especially about my audio when I'm recording. What do you experience? I wear an Arai XD4 and I'm 5'10". I don't experience terrible vibrations or extraordinary noise, but I do have a difficult time with wind noise on my audio. I'mm thinking the wind does get directed right toward my chin/mouth area. I think I'll experiment with angling my head differently.

@@stevenjohn4 I’m rather novice but I’d say I don’t experience anything too intense or extraordinary. There’s some really good videos on wind buffeting here on KZbin. I watched some to learn more and my key take away was that there are tons of contributing factors and also that it’s common for buffeting to occur from below. Sorry I’m not much help. Check out some of the videos if you haven’t already and I hope they might help you! Best, G

About how much do you have in the tank and fairing upgrades?
@GeordieMac
@GeordieMac Жыл бұрын
Hey, Keith. Well the tank is about $300 and the fairing is quite expensive, over $2,000. That’s a big number and many people say, “Why would you put that much money into a DR650?” To which I answer, if you’re planning an adventure trip through remote places like Central or South America, Africa, the Far East, Australia… then I think it wise to consider your ability to repair your bike in these remote locations should something go wrong. The DR650 is well known all over the world, is highly reliable and hasn’t changed in 20 years. That’s why I chose it for adventure travel. The Yenkro fairing, while expensive, is the most transformative, important modification I made to my bike. I love it and can’t imagine the bike without it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@keithking6951 Definitely! I love the bike and the fairing! If you’re adventure traveling, I highly recommend it. In Mexico, the police in Mazatlán and Guadalajara ride DR650s which is great for two reasons - you know you can find parts and repairs and everyone I met was so friendly and helpful and loved talking about the mods to the DR! Keep in mind that just a pair of quality LED (DOT approved) light pods cost aroud $400 USD. I agree it is on the expensive side. I think the quality in craftsmanship and components somehow justify the price.
