So QUEENCARD is a phrase which students used to call their school belle in the 1980s (I bet students nowadays don't even know this phrase). But this song literally brings me back memories of my childhood and the message is so profound. Well done g-idle. Well done Soyeon!

it was also very popular in South Korea in the 2000s. the movie "Mean Girls" received the title "How to Survive as a Queenca" in South Korea because of how big this slang was back there

This song and mv was inspired by the movie I feel(2018). In the movie, protagonist falls down while working out and when she wakes up, she sees herself in the mirror and she is surprised to see that she became ‘pretty’. Skinnier and prettier, she feels more confident and happy. People also praise her and befriend her. At some point she realize that she never really became pretty and looked just like her own self all this time. And she truly embraces herself and realize that mindset and confidence was what people saw. In the mv, soyeon is miyeon, yuqi, minnie. Scenes where she is dressed just like them indicate she saw herself as pretty and confident (dreaming while on the surfery bed). And like in the movie I feel, she wakes up and realize people liked her even without her plastic surgery or what not. This mv was kind of hard to understand without the movie I feel context.

i don't think soyeon is actually yuqi, i think it was just because it looked nice, as then shuhua appears in front of the mirror, it's probably just to say that soyeon didn't saw herself in the mirror but a "pretty girl"

This is how you do the Y2K concept! They really committed and executed it to perfection while paying homage the music as well as the movies of that era. The song gives me such strong early 2000 P!nk vibes! I feel like back then was also the era of name dropping other stars in your songs. It used to be Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and now it's Kim K and Ariana. Love it 😄

Soyeon would’ve been stuck at the plastic surgeons office. And in the allergy mv Minnie also had esteem issues as shown at the beginning. And it’s seen a hospital bed being rolled out then minnies part. And in the allergy mv soyeon sees the plastic surgery turns around then looks in a mirror, and Minnie is there. It seems as if Minnie sees herself relating to soyeon, and Minnie is someone also with esteem issues

今回は２曲で一つの作品となっていて単なる曲ではなくショートムービーとなっている所が本当に凄い。 制作発表の時にソヨン先生がコメントしていましたが今回の基本となるベースは「I Feel Pretty」からインスピレーションを受けて、それをハイティーン＆Y2Kに置き換えて作ったみたいですね。 撮影監督のコメントもありましたが今回はアメリカでの撮影をベースにして撮影したようですが色々修正などもあったりして全部で４か月もかかって結構大変だったって言ってましたね。 I-DLEはKPOPガールズグループの中では完全に別枠＆別格扱いだから本当に凄い。 自分はKPOP全体が大好きで、どのグループ＆ソロにもいい所は一杯あるから比較するのがそもそも間違っていますね。

Good reaction ladies! Although I agree that it has a good message, it is somewhat hypocritical and satirical as they are one of the most attractice kpop groups, and some definitely had plastic surgeries, not to mention that they are definitely selling their looks on this music video! I guess in a way its a joke, in a tongue in cheek, I mean who would watch them if there weren't so attractive?
