31.Part 2 : "언젠가는" , "조만간에" 1. 언젠가는 - 가까운 미래인지 먼 미래인지 구분해야함 ①먼 미래 = one day = someday - one day와 someday는 차이가 있지만 거의 동일 - someday는 미래의 어느 날에만 사용 가능 someday는 언제가 될지 모르지만의 언젠가는 강조 - one day는 미래, 과거의 어느 날 둘 다 가능 oneday는 그냥 언젠가는, 어느 날, 어느 하루 - someday가 some으로 인해 무작위성으로 사용빈도가 더 높음 one day는 결정적인 일이나 더 중요한 일에 더 적합한 표현 ex) 언젠가는 너도 이해를 할거야 = One day(someday), you’ll understand. ex) 언젠가는 내가 해야 될 일이니까 열심히 배우고 있어요. = I have to do this someday, so I’m learning as fast as I can (= It’s something that I have to do someday, so I’m doing my best to learn.) ②가까운 미래 - one day(someday)와 다르게 언제까지 이 상태를 유지할 순 없다, 뭔가 변화가 있어 야한다의 어감 = one of these day = sooner or later - 더 급박한 느낌 - sooner or later ex) 나도 언젠가는 이거 하는 방법 좀 배워야겠다. = One of these days, I’m going to have to learn how to do this. ex) 그래도 언젠가는 걔한테 사실대로 얘기를 해줘야 돼. = Still, sooner or later, you’re going to have to tell her the truth. 2. 조만간에 - 곧(soon)은 그 시점이 어느 정도 정해져 있을 때 사용되는 반면에 조만간에는 그 시점이 곧 에 비해 언제가 될지 모를 때 사용 - keyword는 sometime 그 자체로는 조만간에 X ex) Let’s meet up sometime. Let’s get together sometime. 우리 언제 한번 만나자. = sometime soon ex) Hey, let’s meet up sometime soon. 야, 조만간에 한번 만나자. = sometime + 구체적 시간표현 sometime this week/month sometime in the next couple of days in the next few weeks in the next several months ex) Hey, let’s meet up sometime this week. ex) I’ll give you a call sometime in the next couple of days. 제가 조만간에 다시 연락을 드릴게요. ex) There’s going to be another meeting sometime in the next few weeks. 조만간에 회의가 한번 더 있을 예정이에요. cf) 금방 - 아래 패턴을 외워 사용 ex) 금방 해결될 것 같지는 않아. (조만간에는 약간 어색) It doesn’t look like it’s going to be(get) taken care of anytime soon. ex) 금방 떠나지는(가지는/출발하지는) 않을거야. I’m not going to leave anytime soon. ex) 금방 출시되지는 않을거예요. It’s not going to be released anytime soon.

he will이 아니라 he'll이면 의미는 같을 거 같아요. he will이라하면 '그는 너가 거짓말한걸 알고말거야' 처럼 그가 알고야 말겠다는 의지가 담겨있는데 he'll은 be going to 처럼 '미래에 일어날 일'로 쓰인다고 알고 있어요! 맞나요 선생님?? ㅎㅎ

선생님~ 댓글란을 이용해서 연습많이하라는 말씀 너무 격려가되요. 콩글리시가 괜한 공해(소음)가 되면 어쩌나 살짝 걱정될 때도 있었거든요. 아무도 눈여겨 보지 않을지라도, 근데 정말 여기다 적으면, 혼자 틀린거 발견하면서 완전챙피하면서, 이게 효과가 있어요. 망신을 당해야 기억에 오래남는다는. 망신의효과! The effect of shame on me! 영작이라는게 저에겐 영어만의 문제가 아니라 한글 글짓기부터 배워야되는문제예요. 1. 하지만 언젠가는 내가 마스터해야 될 일이니까 열심히 연습하고 있어요. 영작이라는게 금방 좋아지진 않겠지만, 연습할때마다 조금씩 더 감이 오는것 같고. 결국 언젠가는 익숙해지리라 확신합니다. But I have to master this someday, so I'm practicing as fast as I can. Writing in English, it doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon, I feel like I'm getting better at it each time I try it, eventually, I bet, one day, I'm going to get used to it. 2. 트럼프의 트위터 계정은 시장에 긍정적이고 부정적인 영향을 많이 준다. 그로인해 터키처럼 지금 몇몇나라가 위기상태이다. 금방 해결될 것 같지는 않아. 맞아, 그래도 언젠가 회복될거야. Trump's Twitter account has lots of both positive and negative effects on the market. As a result, some countries such as turkey are now in crisis. It doesn't look like it's going to be(get) taken care of anytime soon. Right, still, someday, it's going to get recovered. 3. 이제 막 귀국을해서, 한동안은 시차때문에 엄청 피곤할거예요 당분간은 시차적응하기위해 졸려도 낮잠을 자지 말아야할거같아. I just arrived in my country so I'm going to be pretty tired because of jet lag for a while. So, for the time being, I feel like I shouldn't have a nap to adapt the time difference even if I'm sleepy. Thanks a million for all your gem-like lessons.

선생님 안녕하세요. 저는 학교 현장에서 아이들을 가르쳤던 사람입니다. 제 전공이 영어 라고 말하기 부끄러울 만큼 스피킹에 강박이 항상 있었습니다. 지금도 마찬가지고요. 임용을 준비하면서, 그리고 학교에서 아이들을 가르치면서 실생활에서 쓰이는 영어를 공부하는 것이 중요함을 알지만, 시험을 위한 영어와 전공 공부에 매달릴 수 밖에 없었고요. 항상 주변에서 영어교사라고 하면 당연히 영어를 잘하겠지 .. 하는 선입견 때문에 더욱 영어를 사용해야 하는 상황에 두려움이 있었어요. 전공자로서 많은 교수방법등에 대한 지식이 조금이나마 있어 대부분의 사설학원에서 진행되는 수업들이 무의미 한지도 알고 있어서 ( 모든 수업이 그렇다는 건 절대 아닙니다. 제가 실제적으로 도움을 받은 수업들도 많았어요!) 수업을 듣는 것도 꺼려지더라고요. 몇달 전 선생님을 알고 부터 꾸준히는 아니지만 간간히 영상 보면서 연습하고 있는데 너무나 도움을 많이 받아 글 남깁니다. meaningful context 안에서 실질적인 표현들을 그 뉘앙스 까지 알려주셔서 너무나도 감사합니다. 외국에 살아본 경험이 있다 하더라도 자신에게 익숙한 패턴의 구조와 표현들로만 표현하려는 경향이 많은데 , 이것들을 정확하고 실질적으로 영어권 사람들이 사용하는 표현들로 체화할 수 있는 소중한 기회를 제공 받은 것 같아요! 꾸준히 연습하고, 강의 듣고 하면서 더 나은 실력으로 아이들을 올바르게 가르칠 수 있는 사람이 되도록 노력할께요 ! 교육이 참 무서운 것이어서 제가 제대로 알지못하고, 부족한 실력으로 아이들 앞에 서는 것이 참 두려운 것이라는 것을 깨닫는 요즘입니다. 그래서 잠시 교직을 떠나 있기도 하구요 선생님 건강 잘 챙기셔서 좋은 강의 오래도록 부탁드립니다 ^^ 항상 영상 볼때마다 감사한 마음이 있어서 글 남겨요!!

조만간 마라톤대회에 나갈 예정이예요. 그래서 주중엔 5마일정도 달리고 격주 토요일엔 12마일이상을 달려요. 언젠가는 보스턴 마라톤대회에 꼭 참여할 수 있었으면 좋겠어요. I'm planning to join the marathon race sometime in the next several months.
