As a lot of street art is transient, some shown in this video can no longer be seen, having been replaced with other art.

@@EdExploresScotland But the murals would last for years, and I can't see anyone painting over such beautiful art.

@@Harrier_DuBois - You'd be surprised. The painting shown in the video thumbnail has gone, and been replaced with something just as stunning.

hello Laird edward.. from alba.. i recently visited south & north lanarkshire, and found your video on HAMILTON PALACE & CHATELRAULT lodge & country park, absoultely fascinating, i had never heard of Hamilton palace ever before, but was familar with duke of chatlerault, and the earlier dukes of hamilton... after reading book about queen mary of scots, and the hamilton- family... so i walked from strathclyde park , via or around motherwell-hamilton... saw the masoleum... then the site of the old palace..and the lodge. futher on, went to cadzow castle..., past the bridge , the river avon and gorge... could not find BOTHWELL CASTLE, or was told it was closed... at least historic scotland site said so,.....somewhere around hamilton, had a very short time in the area, only a few hours.. as was staying within strathclyde country park...., and then visited edinburgh, sterling & glasgow..... so it was a , quick tour,... i so on a map t *dalzell country park* but was unable to visit there, also quite unfamilar with the history or area , your the expert ed... so i have a challange for you... could you visit, or do a video on the *scottish country houses -castles-manors etc, that were demolished, gone or ruined in the 19th-20th century... Blythswood House... & Douglas Castle , are my suggestions., very sure you have many more suggestions..., also if you could visit.. some of the *national trust & historic scotland sites* at least from outside, it is too expensive to visit loads..., would very much appreciate a video about them , especially in the north & south lanarkshire ...glasgow- & edinburgh -lothian areas... it is as much for *genalogy- ancestery , and a deep connection, to the history & people...the gaelic & old british history.. as a love and affinity with alba-caledonia-scotland and its clans, castles, culture, places ...., the royal miltiary tatoo in edinburgh, the massed pipes event in glasgow. the highland games... etc burns night, st andrews day... the banner of king william the lion, the white unicorn piercing the 3 lions at the battles of bannockburn 1314 , otterburn 1388 & sark 1448... the sasanachs ran from their lives, doon river.... lol

Anything that brightens up the end of the auld tenements has got to be a good thing, and the skill that goes into the giant art works always amazes me.

we got a nice end of a tenement mural here in Greenock, had a few other smaller ones but as usual vandals ruined them ,recently we got a shop front art in Port Glasgow depicting old shops, recognised a few of the Glasgow ones always a pleasure to see artistic creations :)

A very different kind of video compared to what you usualy create, but very interesting indeed. There is definitely a difference between street art and vadalism. Good graffiti art when done right can add to the looks of a location. All to often its a gang tag, a name or male parts that are scribbled on a wall. Hope all is good Ed 🙂

Hallo there. I'm working on a possible video that will look at a feature not far from your recent video about Crookston Castle. Early days, and like all research it may just fizzle out and end in nothing. Take care.

@@EdExploresScotland Look forward to seing it. There is a lot of history there to be covered. My video was really nothing more than a walk though with some music. A lot of stuff that you could speek about. The earthworks are interesting. I really need to start at least taking in my videos. I prefer to be well behind the camera though 🙂

Thanks Ollie. I'm afraid the song's going to stick with the video. I did do Spotify and other platforms for a while, and even made my own vinyl LP back in the 80s ('Eddy Burns (By The Way)'), but you'll just have to watch the video over and over again. Sorry.
