Dear Dr, this video was exactly what I needed! I just underwent mastectomy and am still recovering at hospital. I’m absolutely grateful that my surgery was a success, however I feel super emotional lately and cry quite often. I couldn’t really place those feelings till I watched this clip. So very helpful and answering all my questions to the point. Grateful to know u, Dr. 🙏

Last week l discovered your excellent podcast on youTube.I live in South Africa but my son 43 and DILaw 38 live in Denmark. It is a certainty my son 43 is grieving over his wife's diagnosis. His message when l asked was it's not cool. I am also grieving over my son whose wife has started line 1 neoadjuvant chemo for HER 2 Positive breast cancer size 28 mm tumor. They are awaiting the test result of a shadow close or in a lymph gland (my son's words). 4 days ago she had a lymph gland biopsy. Whether it was close to an axillary gland my son didn't mention and l think he is too overwhelmed to understand in detsil. Apart from my daughter-in-law, I am extremely concerned about my son and sad that he is going through this life changing diagnosis with his wife. They had been trying for children and they also had a miscarriage. I told my son they should continue with socials, invite people home and walk the dogs etc . I would like to be a sounding board for him. It appears l am the only person he talks to. I relate symptoms of tiredness, dry mouth, loss of taste and smell to my daughter my son's sister. All those symptoms after the first chemo line. Do you have any advice for me regarding being a sympathetic ear to my son?

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so happy that your son has you for a sounding board. It's important to do what you're already doing, what we call "holding space" for someone. Not trying to fill it up with advice, giving him room to express his true feelings, and not judging him in any way. We would also recommend that you find some support for yourself so that you can feel as whole during this time.

CAR T cell therapy is available for her2 positive breast cancer?
@yerbba

At this point, CAR T cell therapy is not promising in solid tumors but rather in hematologic (blood) conditions and lymphoma.
