Could you bind the sleeve edges and use snaps inside to attach the long sleeves? Then you'd have both a long sleeved & sleeveless sailor dress
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
@@eeyore_chick6059 that's an interesting idea! I think they probably would come unsnapped too easily, but I might have to try that in a future project.

PS: don't worry about your arms. That sleeveless looks great on you. Get a little sun or bronzer on them and immediately slims them. You are lovely as you are.

I will second the surprising ability of a tan to improve our self-image. Also, (unless you are one of the unfortunate ones who ONLY BURNS never tans,) I find a tan helps me cope with high summer temps. Also also, the proto-tennis skirt and not-polo was a cute look.

Dora is so cute when she is having the zoomis💜 you are probably done with this dress when I'm writing this, but since this is a cosplay/ child/ doll transition dress I think altering sleeve length to your preferred length is more than ok. But it will look very good with long sleeves 😊

That Samantha dress is turning out beautifully! I am glad you can have a nice break from making the glowy garments with it. The little anchor and stars were especially cute to see. Und es freut mich, dass Sie Deutsch lernen! German isn’t too bad once you get the grammar rules down and realize a lot of the words are the same as they are in English but with an accent or a German spelling/verb ending lol. Using Black Snail Patterns could also help with that since they are printed in both languages.

I had a drop waist sailor dress when I was a kid. It was a light pink color. It made me shapeless (not that I needed shape as a kid), but I loved that dress so much. It was cotton and so comfy and fun. It had a big square bib in front with 2 lines of flat navy trim.

Hi Rebecca!!! Very enjoyable as ever. The dress is looking 👌 🔥 😍. I've been lucky enough today to get a Singer machine ,a 1951 model. The manual/booklet is in pristine condition. . It Works beautifully and has been cleaned , new belt etc and looks brand spankin' new. The domed cover has not been redone but I love it that way. All the little scuffs ,dents and scrapes she has had during her journey. The gentleman I purchased her from is now working on a 1941 model with a.....wait for it..........CRANK!! I will definitely have to see it when it is finished. Binge watching you tonight, too excited to sleep. Like a kid at Christmas. Except I'm 59. Watching your videos is always a pleasure but tonight it is just a little bit more motivating 😀 😉 💖💖

After setting eyelets or grommets, you can change them to whatever color by painting them with nail polish. Make sure they're away from pets while drying, and don't handle the garment until they're completely dry.

Could you maybe make a tutorial on how you apply ribbon trims? Your corners are amazing! 🤩
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
Tbh, I'm not sure it would warrant its own video! Basically, I draw a line where it needs to go (normally lines up with the middle of the ribbon), and when I get to a corner, I leave my needle down in the ribbon, pivot the fabric and ribbon, and make a little fold in the inner corner. By leaving the needle down, you know it's not going anywhere!

I’ve gotta find your videos on Darts I think cause I’m working on a woven top mock-up and it’s my first top with darts and I feel like I could use all the help I could get right now. Might also just sew a different size though cause my shoulders with the set in sleeve is not in the right spot looking back at the pictures.. Things like that are part of the reason I watch your videos and other creators because your fitting yourself and seeing it from that view I think helps my brain.

Love the dress! Somehow gives me vintage tennis dress vibes. Also, it's cool that you learn German! As a German native speaker, it always fascinates me when people want to learn it because it is not exactly a widely spoken language. May I ask why you chose to learn German? Anyway, viel Erfolg und viel Spaß :-)
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
Danke! I picked German mostly because I had already started it a few years ago, before a trip to Europe. I knew the only towns I was going to were in Germany, so I did some Duolingo, and then a month of Pimsleur, so that I could try to get by a little. So when I saw a bunch of people posting about Duolingo earlier this year, I started up again, but I find that Duolingo is not particularly helpful!

The sailor collar turned out so cute. Love the stripes with the star details. Worth all the trouble it gave you. Perhaps after you wear it to the con you could swap out the longs sleeves for short sleeves, keeping the same cuff detail? Then you'll be able to wear it as part of your summer wardrobe and not just as a costume. It's far too cute not to wear it in everyday life.

Wait! What was that about using shampoo????
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 жыл бұрын
I usually use shampoo (clear or white base only) to get makeup spots (or anything oil-based) out of clothing. It basically works like dawn dish soap, since it's designed to get oils out of hair, but without the risk of blue -colored soap.
