YES are without any doubt, my all-time best ever favourite band in the history of music including every imaginable genre! I'm a Bass Player because of the finest ever on the planet, Mr Christopher Squire who is and will remain the best and that even takes into account all the awesome virtuosos in Fusion who all sound so similar! Chris is absolutely unique with a wonderful voice! To be able to play such ludicrously beautiful basslines in weird time signatures and sing such different vocal lines and play the Moog Taurus pedals shows a superhum amount of coordination!!! I love Chris like a wonderful older brother and I'll aways miss him with all my broken heart!!! XXXXX

What a great collection of talent. One can only imagine the clash of egos that went on behind the curtains on this tour. Saw them in Atlanta at the Lakewood Amphitheater. Somehow, i had never heard Awaken before that day. Thought it was a new song. Absolutely blew my mind. It still does. Chris flies on the silent wings of freedom.

Trevor Rabin wrote in his twitter: "Hi everyone, I am about as sad as I could be. You all I'm sure know by now that Chris has passed. I spoke to him about a week ago, and we were still laughing together. Even though he had recently taken a turn for the worse, this was not totally unexpected, and the shock and sadness is extreme. I will miss him terribly. An era is over. Music has lost a one of a kind, and I have lost a dear friend and brother. RIP"

You will not be the judge of whether Yes should cease to exist or not. Jon Anderson does not NEED Yes and Yes does not NEED Chris Squire. There will come a time when the last original member retires and the newest member takes his place. It is my sincere hope that Yes is playing great music a hundred years from now. Now THAT is something to say YES to.

So good at playing fast scales. His guitar playing doesn't fit with classical Yes epics IMO. I prefer what he did on 90125. In Big Generator, "Shoot High..." is a really good song ; so sad he decided to play this Di Meolesque thing in the middle, just to show off. Anyway, Howe remains the man, next to Squire.

In some guitar mag. in the 1970's Steve Howe got voted the best guitarist, and best overall guitarist 5 years straight, and Chris Squire the best bass player for 5 years also, then you have one of the best keyboard player and two of the best drummers inBill Buford, and Alan White, then throw in Trevor..... Whewww the best
It’s a shame they didn’t think to involve Peter Banks in this tour. How cool would it have been to have THE ORIGINAL lineup play some of the really ancient Yes songs…and have the rest of the guys kick in their parts or interpretations.
@nathelm2 жыл бұрын
So many difference between Rabin and Howe. Rabin seems more laid back and has great chemistry with Wakeman and Squire. Howe, on the other hand, is so focused and dialed n. Rabin is a shredder and a rock guitarist. Howe is a master at so many styles. I'm so glad they could coexist in this tour because that was the absolute highlight for me. And nothing against Tony Kaye, one of the best keyboardist in rock, but Wakeman is a composer, a true pianist. Could never figure out my favorite lineup until this tour.

This will serve to remind EVERYONE of what the Masters can do. This is a routine invitation to the apprentices of what they can learn from.said masters and further accomplish once on their own but alas, it has one other much more sacred component: that the masters that once were CANNOT BE DUPLICATED. We have these "servants" to help add additional harmony. In no way is this the YES we once knew and loved...no. That YES has gone into a new existence. Ciao.
