US President Donald Trump’s executive order granting Afrikaners refugee status and facilitating their resettlement in the U.S. has resulted in over 17,500 emails, calls, and messages from South Africans to the South African Chamber of Commerce in the US (SACCUSA), causing their website to crash. In an interview, Neil Diamond, the President of SACCUSA, told BizNews that they have been overwhelmed by these inquiries. Diamond expressed concern about the impact of Trump’s actions on South Africa's economy, stating that the impact on food security is not being taken seriously. He called for “all hands on deck” to resolve the crisis, emphasising that South Africa now needs one voice. Heading to Washington to lobby South Africa's case, Diamond has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to join the business community in the United States for roundtable discussions with the US President and the Secretary of State.

For the past 10 years, I have found odd contracts that accumulate to an average of 2 years of work. I'm double-degreed, have the necessary IT certifications, over 30 years of IT experience, and had an IT consulting house I had to close due to fraud. I'm not White Afrikaans, nor White English, but Coloured of English White and Indian heritage. Black racism is thriving and discriminates against all minority groups - Whites, Indians and Coloureds. DT's invitation should be open to all minority groups! All major corporations generally comply with BBBEE/BEE regulations and equity ratings to ensure more contracts with the government. My own small company is not allowed to have family members any longer, which basically terminates it from functioning again! Pure Black racism currently exists in South Africa!!

If I was a farmer, always under threat of farm attacks and land expropriation, I would go. In the end, the future and safety of my family is paramount. Even if the ANC scraps the Restitution Act and other descriminatory laws, you are still going to have lawless individuals (leaders) taking matters into their own hands and playing to the masses. We are farmers in Nortwest. We have 15 farmworkers with their families. We've been together on this farm for 2 generations. Due to wage laws, cost of Eskom, and the cost of everything agri related, we have not been able to make a living on the farm for many years. Both our sons have worked on farms in America for the past 6 years, only coming home for a few weeks over Christmas. They send money home so that we can keep our workers and pay eskom. We've tried everything to keep our family farm where my husband and all our kids were born. We also lost a son when he was nine years old, and he and his grandparents and their parents are all buried on this farm. How do we leave this place? What will become of the hundred people that between us and our kids we provide for each month. But with another eskom hike and EWC, I don't see a way out. Trumps invitation makes it possible to breathe again. Don't know if we will take it, but at least we have an option now.

I have been to South Africa two times. Once in 1993 and again in 2015. In 1993, I had an amazing time. In 2015, I got robbed in person and later my hotel was robbed (I think by the hotel staff). When I left SA on the second trip, I felt relief and knew I would never go back again. I can't imagine being a White South African and not taking Trump up on this offer.

If many South african farmers leave to the US, they would gain a bountiful wealth of farming knowledge from hard working South African farmers, hell bring with locally farmed species too, USA is massive so I am sure there are plenty suitable environments to farm unique livestock and crops. Pity SA seems to think it'll survive without them, terrible terrible mistakes could be made.

Trump is amazing. First President in my lifetime who is looking to import people that will actually help make America better. I have traveled all over the world. Met many people who want to move to America. Almost all of them talk about how America will give them a better life. You might be the first person talking about how America will gain! @returnofCrusade I am not a farmer by trade but I have family in George area who I am really concerned about especially in this current climate, they work hard to provide your oats, wheat, sorgum and other grains, alongside merino and dorpe sheep and a lot of ostrich and I'm sure they'd be well appreciated if they were to move. Haven't kept in touch with them much since I last visited in 2015.
