I had this album when it first came out. And after 50 years and 20,000 listens, Starship Trooper remains my all time favorite song. Ever. So I really enjoyed hearing you do it. And also that nice ending you put on it.

Out of curiosity, how do you go about learning songs like this?
@LeloCraveiro2 жыл бұрын
Well I'm 54 years old and have been playing since 16 years old. When I started playing there was no internet, no songbooks available, no computer. It was just a record player, cassette tape and a cheap guitar, so the solution was to try and listen, listen, listen and try to get it right. That's still how I do it today. 🙂

Nice job, technically very good, maybe the best on youtube! Suggestion on tone to emulate the original recording: two tape drives were used in the studio set with slightly different flutter values. You can also use two chorus pedals in sequence with slightly different time values. If you dial it injust right, It gives a warbly, modulation very close to the original recording, somewhere between a phase shifter and a flanger, but different.

Are you doing hybrid picking for the intro? I'm really trying to play it but I'm having some trouble. I can't play it as fast as I'm supposed to.
@LeloCraveiro6 жыл бұрын
PhantomMori Hello. I'm not doing hybrid picking, but it's okay if you opt for that. It will sound good.
