@@shadowbolt518 Wrong, gambling has the potential to totally destroy MLB because nobody would go to games if they were fixed/the outcome was determined before the first pitch was thrown, steroids put asses in seats which is why MLB dragged their feet cleaning it up. I'm not advocating for roids but that's the truth. Gambling is still way worse than roids and I'd bet dollars to donuts any owner would say the same.

You won't vote them in because they got suspended? Wasn't the suspension their punishment? I get it if you think they wouldn't be HOF worthy without it, but A-Rod, Manny, Clemens, Bonds, etc. deserve to be in.

No pitchers go out there every innings total of 9 possiblity. Meaning they play every inning of the game until he is told to exit the game. The DH doesn't do that. He bats once every three innings unless there are a lot of hits. HOyt Wilhelm was first reliever. WHen was reliever looked upon as no I am not putting ghim in Cause I'm 41 years old so at minimum it was a long time ago.

I think A-Rod should be in either way. Even without PED’s he was incredible and there’s an argument he could’ve been in the GOAT conversation. Same thing with Bonds. Look at Cano this year, no one thought he was on juice than outta nowhere he fails a test. Everyone is cheating

He forfeited his chance to be in when he got caught not once, not twice but three times, lied about it and then had the nerve to throw each and every person who supported him and stood up for him under the damn express-way. If you say that they deserve to be in even though they used steroids then there should be a new rule put that makes it mandatory for players to use steroids. Because if we gonna let players use its still not fair to players who so it either has to be that all players are on steroids or no players are on steroids.

Bonds & Clemons are both all time greats no doubt. I have never disputed that. My problem with them is that they cheated. Bottom Line. Yes Bonds was a good player & yes Clemons was great. Jim Thome was great without cheating, so was Palmeiro. Yes I know he cheated too, but Rafy was great.

Here's the thing about Andy Pettitte: He's stupid. That's not unusual in the baseball, but it made him susceptible to following Clemens and when he got injured he used steroids to help him get better. Certainly it was wrong, but there is a level of inderstanding of why he did what he did. You would not expect that from other high integrity players who were also smart, like Jeter, Griffey, Mussina, Granderson, and others. You also need to keep in mind that the rule doesn't 100% make sense. Roberto Colon got surgery that normally includes HGH as part of the recovery process. He didn't take it and likely suffered more pain and bigger risk the surgery would have failed as a result. Now of he had taken the HGH it would not have still been effecting him by the time he healed and got back to the majors. So they should have a procedure to have an exception for legitimate usage, preapproved by MLB, with a waiting period between taking it and playing again.

Steroids hit my high school in the 80's. Many of us who refused to use where less valued by our coaches. It hurt the young talents that had natural abilities. Very few of the steroid users worked harder then the athlete busting his ass every day and not keeping up with the cheats.

If we define it as "cheating" the conversation is closed. One cannot be a sportsman and cheat. It defeats the whole point. Sport is not war: it is not predicated on anything goes. Sport is nothing without the rules of engagement. It gets complicated if we're talking about a time before specific rules were made. For example, Babe Ruth used to scarf down a couple dozen hot dogs before the game, and play the game off that induced euphoria. Now, what if someone figured out the exact set of nutrients that gave him the lift and distilled them into a pill? Is there a difference? it's one heckuva complicated business defining an objective line in the sand for what nutrients, and what quantities of nutrients, constitute "cheating". I have no clue where to draw that line! All I know is I don't want cheaters in the game. (I don't want to shake their hands, I don't want them over for dinner... you get the point.)

Hey Rudy! Genes are a big deal, no doubt about it. I'm not sure how you mean to relate genes to this issue. Help me understand your point. Different individuals respond to nutrients in different ways, that much I admit readily.

Michael Kay is wrong we know Bonds & Clemens would have been HOF guys but they cheated period putting them in you can't do that & I look at their cases Bonds look at his size in Pittsburgh compared to his later Giants days obvious. Clemens you look at the way his Red Sox career end .500 record then 2 Cy Youngs with Toronto & don't forget Yankees starting with a 20-1 record one year. So failing a test means zero to me looking compared records like Clemens last Red Sox year to his Blue Jay & Yankee years. Bonds simple body looks from Pittsburgh to his final years in SF, you don't get that much bigger lifting weights only period.
