Seeing him get teary for a moment near the end really moved me. These people - the true geeks of the world - have made life so much easier for everyone since and they never get the thanks they ought to!

This machine is amazing! Xerox is very innovative company it should be the the personal computer king! Apple is peace of shit, they take ideas from xerox !

I know this is an old comment, but Xerox wasn't pushing this for a wide release , plus Apple added their own GUI. What you have on your desktop now would have taken maybe 5+ more years ... that's a lot of time by tech standards. You should be more mad that Douglas Engelbart isn't widly known -- what you see here, plus a lot more , was from a demo he gave many years before this. The demo is on youtube. Also, I believe Apple paid Xerox (I could be wrong).

I have a intel386DX chip from the first pc that I used. I have it still I cherish it so much. I display it on my Desk at work.

Xerox let Apple have access to their ideas for $100 million in stock. Xerox leadership was too stupid to realize what they had. You can’t blame Jobs for making a good deal.
