Rider's mindset is everything for sure. When I am tense or upset bc of something else going on in life my rides are never as good, for obvious reasons. When I was still teaching school there were some days I knew better than to even get on my then young half Arab, we did ground work instead

We have a younger 1/2 arab 1/2 tb. Who can have opinions. Ground work is our go to.

How do you address a horse that likes to anticipate things? My gelding loves routines and knowing what comes next. If we change things up, he gets upset. He is older. Love your videos and learn so much.

Age matters. The smarter the student the earlier you need to start. Try training a 6 month old border or other herding dog. It is agony. They figured out the game and guess what your game doesn't resemble their game. Start one at 5-6 weeks and they are about as perfect as you can get because your games, goals match.
