JT speaks about his dad with such wisdom and forgiveness. my dad’s parenting style is similar to townes’ and it’s been hard for me to achieve the level of forgiveness shown here. jt seems like a grade a human being.

Gage Brown In many ways, our parents are doing the best they can with what they’ve got. Sometimes we can’t see it or we might not be able to understand it, but we all have our demons. Some demons are bigger than others.

The way he describes the hyper focus really resonates with me. Its exactly what I love about fishing; when you're fishing, you're doing just that, you're just fishing.

JT is the real deal. Always grateful for his insight. I’ve loved Townes for years but recently my admiration has shifted to JT. Understanding that you can appreciate the art Townes was able to make but still be realistic about who he was. Thanks for your perspective JT.

Oh, how I wish J.T. would see this. The last time I saw him was at Executive Surf Club in Corpus Christi. That was the last time I saw Townes, too. I sang a song to Townes that I had written for him years and years before... don't know if J.T. would remember that. I have just the greatest respect for J.T. and what he's accomplished in his life ... he parlayed that hand he was dealt into a real winner. And now I'm gonna go hunt for a tissue. Much, much love, kiddo. Well done.

I discovered Townes about 5 years ago after hearing a local musician in Kinsale, Ireland singing Pancho & Lefty. I've listened to his music everyday since. I discovered J.T on KZbin very recently and I'm really impressed at his maturity, clarity, passion and love for his family. I started my own family at a similar age and I can relate -

From spending time with my father. Life is a little bit sweet and a little bit bitter. Love this video. I’m gonna watch this on a weekly basis to remind me. Why I’m trying to be a better father than mine was 🔥

I was loaned a Van Zandt album in my mid 20s by a crazy, bearded guy who came into the bookstore where I worked. I was a young hippie kid, who'd never heard anything like that. What a great way to reconnect to Townes' legacy, and know more about his son. Now I'm older, I fly fish and this really short really made my think about my own legacy and my own father. Thank you.
