The song and the rotations....really great! It's like a dance, a ballet with the board! Congrats!

Cheers! It's called a spark plate, they're super rad, especially at night. Check out my video here where I skate with it at night: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXStYaaHnNppja8

Hey Layton, thinking about getting a 34.5 Manta Ray THD. Question, can you ride a Smoothstar longer distances like a regular skateboard, i.e. without pumping all the time?

Sick! fun board - has a touch more drive than the 34" connor, which is better for long distance skating. Yes you can! I use to ride my smoothstar 2km to school, in black school shoes too - not the most ideal shoes for skating either 😆 you can push off on a smoothstar like a regular skateboard - it might just take a bit to get used to as it will be looser than a regular board when pushing off, but with practice it's easy as . My board is a 31,5´´ by Hydroponic, and I'm 163cm tall. I don't know if I choose the right size cause it feels a little big, but they recommend me at the shop. I probably gonna buy a 29'' later to learn in the bowl tho.

That size should be fine. If you ever wanted to upgrade I'd recommend the 31" joane defay model by Smoothstar. I find the thruster turning mechanism on smoothstars are much smoother and responsive than other surfskate mechanisms on the market, which makes it easier to learn on and helps with getting better flow. If it feels a little big, try widening your stance a bit and do that drill that I mention in this video - leaning all they way onto your toe side then tail side. This should give you a better feel of the board and help with maintaining control over it. Hope this helps YEW!
