Its so hilarious how these engines just naturally sound like a bucket of bullets driving down a dirt road.

6:15 i have practice with mx bikes. Even if connecting rod no bending and you side dimensions within manual limit, after inspecting you can find damaging bearing on connecting rod. So, thats why you should always stay with service limit (engine hours). Even if it looks good.

I'd check the valve clearance 1st. I had noise like that in an XR600 and the PO had the valves adjusted about 4-5x wider than spec.
@nwmotogarage Жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree, but the sound wasn’t coming from up top and I have enough experience with diagnostics confidently rule that out. That would be a huge bummer though to completely remove an engine just to adjust the valves haha 😂

I just got a 2024 yfz 450 se yesterday and I did 3 heat cycles one this morning and I let it cool down turned it on to let it warm up took it for a ride not even half throttle,not pushing it not keeping it at a certain rpm when I shift to 2-3 it does like a clunking noise I hear it top end took it to the dealer they said it was the chain From the sprocket getting adjusted? Is this normal? Goes away higher in the rpm idle and start it is good and starts right away. Any ideas so I can get a peace of mind lol

If there is shavings on oil filter does that mean it’s gonna blow soon? I just got my motor rebuilt and on the first oil change after the break in there was shavings

So especially at the first oil change you should be ok because that’s the new motor breaking in. If you are super worried about how much material was on the filter, text me a picture 503-510-3495

Hey I need helping finding out the problem on my 05 yfz450 it has no compression do you think I need a new piston and rings
@nwmotogarage Жыл бұрын
First let me ask, how did you know it didn’t have compression?
@Abolishthefed6911 ай бұрын
Man you best get a top end rebuild kit, a timing kit, send the cylinder off to be serviced, new valves, and keepers. Shim kit and it’ll run again! When you have everything off, check the crankshaft for play, if it’s wiggling around add a bottom end rebuild kit. Be sure to make sure all sealing surfaces are not warped with a flat edge.
@Abolishthefed6911 ай бұрын
Or buy a new cylinder, pretty similar price to sending it off.

@@nwmotogarage 2007 stock carb. Rebuilt, factory 150 main jet. The accelerator pump timing is as perfect as I can get it. Nice clean stream. Starts good on choke, idles down great. You can slow Rev it up to max, and once it's past a certain rpm you can Rev it as quickly as you like. Stab it too quick off idle and it dies.
@nwmotogarage Жыл бұрын
@@frankwester7818 ok I need to you to look up two things for me. 1 YFZ Carburetor O-Ring Mod. Might find a video of it, might just be forums. And 2, look up how to tune the pilot jet and air/fuel screw and make sure yours is set right. Usually completing those two things takes away the bog. I guess the last thing is changing the leak down jet to a smaller jet. Also, 150 seems a little on the small side, but that doesn’t effect the bog you are talking about
@frankwester7818 Жыл бұрын
@@nwmotogarage I've done all that plus some.. even did tps setting.. has a new intake boot. I've put a carb on it that had a 170 and it did the exact same thing.
@nwmotogarage Жыл бұрын
@@frankwester7818 I know it seems so stinkin small, but have you replaced the spark plug? I have had a hand full of jetting issues clear up after replacing the spark plug. And if you have, then I would do a leak down test. Check the overall health of your engine and see if it’s a compression issue. If your engine is week then it may effect the bog
