I was a swimmer when I found wrestling and my parents didn’t want me to wrestle cuz they didn’t want me to get hurt but they also would say they wouldn’t till I got my grades up and I worked every day after swim I went to open mat practice and I got my grades up and after swim ended I joined the wrestling team, I have been wrestling since and I haven been swimming since

I started wrestling freshman year and here I am as a sophomore with a letter jacket, second in district and newcomer of the year award because of exactly what Yianni said in the video and I give all my respect and passion to this man. I used to think sacrificing friends and fun things for wrestling and homework was a chore but now I realize it really is for something great. Wrestling is just as mental as it is physical and I watch this video every single time I get second thoughts about wrestling or whatever and it reminds me not to give up when I’m on my knees or about to fall. So I thank you Yianni and the sport of wrestling for making me the young man I am today because like he said “it’s really something great to be a part of”.

Keep it up young man! Go out there and be mean, attack and dont you ever think you will lose no matter who is across the mat. Attack, adapt and do what you love out there. Good work , much respect and keep it up!!!! - Former Pitt 165lb Wrestler

I'm an old guy, but I love Yianni. I try not to miss any of his matches - I make sure I see him on youtube. What a fine young man. His parents certainly must be so proud of him - I am, I know. Thanks Yianni.

His skill surely makes for him many haters. He never seems to lose hope when he is given very bad calls though. He is on different level of excellence when compared to most in his field. I once didn't care for him but now I want him to be victorious most often. He is a true role model for living. Plus, his mom is SO cute. ...lol

Awesome advice. I remember Yianni's father wrestle and win the RIT Invitational coached by the Great Earl Fuller. Hence a part of Earl Fuller also effected Yianni just like Yianni's advice will effect all those that are effected by Yianni's advice and motivation.

Really cool to imagine that-- now please work on ignoring the trend to purposely write sloppy as if it's cool. You're only changing what doesn't need to be changed, and for older people (you'll be older too someday and know exactly what I mean), it's hard to understand. I don't write with perfect English but I try, so that there's a reason for me to even write something. With your comment above, it seems you don't care if it's understandable, as long as you follow a trend. A stupid trend. Language has changed anyway, slowly with slang and other misunderstandings with repairs and other slight morphs of words closest to what others thought they heard. But that was with time and effort, trying to get it right and sometimes doing the best they could coming close but not quite there. "Change is good!"... yeah I hear that blanket statement sometimes, but you know what's more accurate and true? Take everything on a case-by-case basis. Don't follow trends without thinking. Use moderation in life. Change CAN be good, if we NEED to. Wear strange clothes, play music in an interesting new style... and I understand language can be used as an art as well. But here, where we just want to understand what you're talking about, and see in our minds what you saw... please use the tools of English that have worked just fine for a very long time. Get fancy or "cool" when you write your first song.
